Now For Something Completely Different...

Are you sitting down?  I hope so because this is going to be a first...I'm posting a partially non SU! project!  (GASP!!)  lol!

My husband needed a bridal shower gift for one of his employees.  I found this "scrapbook in a box" at the local LSS.  I used SU! Brushed Silver, Whisper White, Basic Black and Vellum Card Stock.  The "bling" is non SU!, but was a better choice than brads for this project.  The wedding bells and heart images are from a retired SU! stamp set.

The sentiments were printed from the computer onto Whisper White Card Stock.  The smaller one is the date of their wedding.  Each is covered with Vellum Card Stock.  The ribbon is retired Silver Organdy.

This is a view as you open the book.  On the left inside cover, I printed their names from the computer and stamped a heart.

S6301397

Here are 4 of the pages.  The last page with the hearts is adhered to the book.  "Love" is from Wonderful Words stamped in black.

S6301398

The flipside which will hold 3 pictures. "Celebrate" is from Wonderful Words stamped in black.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  I kept it simple so that the photos she adds are the main focal point. I hope Ana likes it too!

Thanks for the visit!

Say It With Scallops--Color Challenge

I haven't participated in an SCS Color Challenge for a few weeks so it was a goal to make sure I did today.  This week's color combo is Blush Blossom, Ruby Red and Chocolate Chip.  My card is doing double duty--it's one of the cards that we are going to make at Mickey's party on Friday.

Chocblushscallop

This card features the new Ronald McDonald House set, Say It With Scallops.  For each set sold, SU! will donate $2 to the Ronald McDonald House Charity!  If you don't have this set yet, email me to order it today.  And since the new Square Scallop punch matches it perfectly, be sure to add that too!

Did you know I offer my classes "to go"?  If you like to attend stamping classes, but can't make mine, schedule your own!  I bring the class to YOU (as long as you live in the Chicago area).  All I require is a minimum of 5 attendees, all prepaid*.  Guests do need to provide their own adhesive, scissors and stamp cleaner too.  On Friday, Mickey is hosting her class to go.  We decided to make 5 cards--the cost is $15.  I will post the other 4 cards in a sneak peek later today.  I can bring this exact class to you as well!

I offer card classes, scrapbooking classes or gift item classes.  Email me for more information and to schedule YOUR class "to go"!.

*If you live outside the Southwest Suburbs, I require a minimum of 8 attendees, prepaid.

When I received my new catalogs, the set that I fell in love with immediately was Inspired by Nature.  I think the artwork that SU! displayed on that page is so beautiful!  So I finally got to play with this stamp and here's what I made.  It's pretty simple, but I just LOVE it!

Holiday Line Up

Last night I got together with Lisa (friend and fellow demo) so that we could share some of our new stamp sets.  She brought her new set, Holiday Line Up.  If you like to send out "fun" Christmas cards, this is the set for you!  I did a lot more coloring on this card than I would do if I had multiple cards to make.  But today I had the time so I took it!

Holidaylineup1

My color combo is based on the new Holiday Treasures DSP:  Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red, Old Olive and Baja Breeze.  I used 2 of the designs from the DSP and made 3 panels of varying widths.

Here are the card details:

Stamp Sets:  Holiday Line Up

Inks:  Ruby Red, Old Olive, Baja Breeze, Black Stazon

Card Stock:  Ruby Red, Old Olive, Baja Breeze, Watercolor Paper, Holiday Treasures DSP

Accessories:  Blender Pens, Stampin' Dimensionals

Stop by tomorrow so you can see another sneak peek of the Wednesday's WOW Class featuring the Big Shot!  For more information, click here.

Thanks for the visit!

Blogger's Challenge and a Sneak Peek!

Happy Friday!  It's a happy Friday for me because I'm going to play more with my new toys!  This week's challenge is a Birthday Card.  My Birthday Card is doing double duty.  It's also one of the cards we'll make at my Wednesday WOW! Class on August 20 (hence, the "sneak peek").  Most of the card is made using the Big Shot and dies.

S6301378

This card looks like a purse, but it opens like any other card.  But, this only a partial sneak peek because there's a spot inside to hold a gift card!  I have to give a little tease for the attendees!  lol.

If you want more information on my Wednesday WOW! Class featuring the Big Shot (kits available), click here.

I'll post another "purse card" like this sometime next week.  I made one that I sent in to Stampin' Up! for a contest.  I'll keep you posted if I win!

Thanks for the visit and have a great weekend.  Be sure to stop by, I know I'll have more projects to post!

I'm a Big Shot Now!!

Yep, Mr. Brown (no man is cuter than the one carrying two big SU! boxes, LOL!!)brought my goodies.  Of course, the first thing I grabbed was my new Big Shot and dies.  All I can say is WOW!!!

Here's my very first creation with the Big Shot.  I used the Top Note Bigz Die and the Birds and Blossoms Sizzlits Die (both are part of the Starter Edition Kit).  This card gives you and idea of how big the Top Note Bigz Die is--the Kiwi Kiss card stock underneath it is 5 1/4" x 4".

Here's a close up of the Sizzlits Die...

S6301376

Remember, you can use my Big Shot at my Wednesday WOW! Class on August 20.  Click here for all the information that I posted the other day.  It's going to be a Big Blast!!!

Thanks for the visit!  I'm going to go play more with my new toys!

Dreams Du Jour and Bella Rosa

This is a card I made for a recent swap using new stamps and paper from the Fall/Winter Catalog (if you didn't receive one yet, email me).  I used a layout that I saw on Laura's blog.  It's a layout that she used for a challenge.  I liked it since I could show off 3 of the different patterns from the Bella Rosa DSP.

S6301312

I stamped the butterfly from Dreams du Jour with Versamark and then immediately with Riding Hood Red. Then I embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder.  I added Kiwi Kiss with a Blender Pen.  My ribbon is White Taffeta that I dyed with Kiwi Kiss.  And of course I had to use the new Scallop Edge--do you see it?  The Old Olive piece just below the ribbon was punched with the Scallop Edge.

Right now I'm anxiously awaiting the UPS guy showing up at my door with my Big Shot (and a few other things, lol).  Be sure to check back to see what I got!

Thanks for the visit!

Baroque Motifs meets Bandana Technique

When I posted this card the other day, I knew it couldn't be a Stamp Camp card since I wanted to use new colors.  I had this card in mind at the time.  My "campers" loved the technique and knew that it could be done with so many different color combos.

S6301357

We used the new In Colors, Pacific Point and Baja Breeze.  The coordinate well with Garden Green.  Baroque Motifs lends itself well to this technique since it has a beautiful flourish and medallion stamps.

If you like to learn new techniques, be sure to join me at one of my Stamp Camps.  I hold one the 2nd Friday of every month in Plainfield, IL and the 2nd Sunday of every month in Hoffman Estates, IL.  I will also bring a Stamp Camp to you (minimum of 5 attendees prepaid)!  Email me for more information.

Thanks for the visit!
