Heart Pocket

This card is for last week's Try a New Technique challenge on Splitcoast.  I think the heart pocket is such a cute idea.  Now, I know I'm supposed to put something IN the pocket.  I just haven't decided if I want a tag or maybe a small treat.

Heartpocket

And once again, I realize this card is Paper Crafting--no stamping!  With the cool new accessories from SU!, such as the Flower Fusion, I don't need to stamp!  This type of card would make a great Valentine's card.  And, if you wanted, you could just make the Heart Pocket with no card base.

Card Stock:  Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, Bali Breeze DSP

Accessories:  Photo Corner Punch, Flower Fusion Accents, Rich Regal Brads, unibal Signo Gel Pen, Crafter's Tool Kit.

I just checked my stats and I'm coming up on a milestone number of hits!  Check back tomorrow--I foresee some BLOG CANDY!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

A few more Valentine's Cards

I haven't used the "elephant" image from Happy Heart Day yet so that was my goal today.  I thought his image was the perfect size for the front of the "Z Fold Card".  I used more of my Cutie Pie DSP paper too.  Here he is:

Front--doesn't he make you smile?

Close up of the tag.  Remember, this stamp set is part of the Valentine Bundle that is only good for 4 more days (January 31)!  Email me if you would like to take advantage of this awesome special!

I wanted to make another Valentine card that wasn't "cutesy".  I was inspired by a card I saw in a magazine that had silver rings and was on designer paper that had a really cool texture.

S6300448

This photo was edited by me because I changed the pin.  I knew something was wrong, but couldn't pin (no pun intended) it down.  Then I saw it--the pin was upside down!

I know you can't see it well in this photo (I tried many times--sorry), but the Real Red card stock has Real Red ink rubbed directly on it.  To make the heart, I stamped Floral with Real Red ink onto Real Red card stock and then cut out a heart.  I used the Zig Painty Pen to outline the heart in silver.  Then I backed it on Basic Black card stock.  The "arrow" is from the Pretties Kit.  I used Brushed Silver card stock to make the rings.  The heart is attached to the card with double Stampin' Dimensionals.

Photo was edited by me.

This picture shows the Floral Background on the heart.  Tip:  I use 2 Way Glue to adhere the rings.  It's so easy to just add a layer on a piece that is narrow such as the rings.

The details:

Card #2

Candy Heart Box

As promised, here is another item from the Valentine Treat Class I just held.  This box is really simple to make and can be made to any size.  I determined the size by wrapping scrap paper around my box and marking where I would need to score.  I used the front of a box to trace the heart shape and cut it out.  Then assemble the box as you normally would.  So go find a box of the shape and size you like, wrap scrap paper around it (make sure you add enough length for the flaps that form the bottom), and now you have your own template!

S6300421

Stamp Set:  Happy Heart Day (the Valentine Bundle special is almost over!)

Inks:  Elegant Eggplant, Pink Passion Marker

Card Stock:  Elegant Eggplant, Pink Passion, Whisper White

Accessories:  Small Tag and Tag Punch, Silver Brads, Three for You Punch, Sticky Strip

Have a great weekend!!  Thanks for stopping in for a visit!

Blogger's Challenge

This week's Blogger's Challenge is to use the "welcome baby" card on page 141 as the layout.  It's a pretty simple card, but I was able to use a lot of embellishments!  In fact, there is only one word stamped on the card--that's it!  If you're wondering where I came up with my color combo (which I really like), it's right off the Color Coach.  I keep this within reach always--it is incredibly helpful in coordinating colors.  And as tell my customers, it can help you dress as well (now you know you can wear your Brocade Blue blouse, with your Old Olive pants, and add a Pumpkin Pie belt for a little "flash")! Let me know what you think!
