A Different Type of Flip Book Album

Last May, I showed a Scrapbook Flip Album.  Now, I used the Wild for Wasabi precut and prescored textured cardstock to make a variation of that Flip Book Album.  If you would like directions, be sure to sign up for my newsletter.  Making this Album will be my next "how to".

Here's the outside:

Here are a few views of the album opened:

Have I picqued your interest?  This came together very quickly and what's really neat, is that the Wild for Wasabi card stock is only $3.95 and that's enough for FOUR of these albums!

Blogger's Challenge and No Mess Glitter

This week's Blogger's Challenge is to make a card with the theme of spring flowers.  Well, let me tell you that it certainly did not look like Spring last night or this morning!  I was at my Mom's house which is in the NW burbs of Chicago and we saw about 1-2 inches of snow fall!  But now the sun is out and here's a sparkly card to help radiate some warmth too!

S6300722

Here's another view to show more of the sparkle!

S6300723

This card had to be special because I gave it to my sister for her birthday.  Her birthday is Sunday, but we celebrated it last night.  She was quite happy with the card.

To make this card, I first stamped the flower (Level 1 Hostess Set--From the Garden) with Black Stazon on Watercolor Paper.  I colored it with Stampin' Write Markers and AquaPainters.  Then, when it was completely dried, I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig and stamped the image again with Versamark.  I added Heat and Stick Powder, heated it, then the glitter and heated once more.  Using the Heat and Stick Powder makes the glitter stick!

With an image that has so many details to highlight with glitter, using the above method is much quicker and easier than the 2 Way Glue.

Be sure to stop by tomorrow to see what's happening here at Stamping with Sheryl.  The SU! ship sets sail and even though I won't be on it, I'm going to "saleabrate" (hint hint)!

Build a Brad Discovery

I noticed my Build a Brads had one sheet of extra clear coverings (6) and a thought came to me.  I bet using them over an image would be cool.  This is what I came up with.

Here's a close up of the Build a Brads.

I really like the affect and hope you do too!  This is one of the projects for the final month of the January-March Box of Stampin' Supplies (B.O.S.S.).  I will start another session in April so be on the look out for that.  My B.O.S.S. program is a great way to build up your Stampin' Up! supplies and learn new ideas and ways to use those products!

Here's the recipe:

Stamp Set:  Embrace Life

Ink:  Black Stazon, Ruby Red

Card Stock:  Ruby Red, River Rock, Bali Breeze DSP

Accessories:  Build a Brad, Blender Pens, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sponge Daubers

Thanks for stopping by!

Need Inspiration? Try the SCS Challenges!

I've been struggling the last few days with stamping--my "mojo" was temporarily shelved.  But, I went to SplitcoastStampers and found the inspiration I needed!  This card uses the Color Combo and Sketch Challenge from this week.  If you haven't ever checked those challenges out, you should!  I think you'll be amazed at what you can create!

S6300715

At first, I thought I might have over done the layers and background stamping, but now, I really like this card.  I'm sending it to my Aunt Reggie.  She was kind enough to let my Mom, sister, niece and I stay with her while we were out in Idaho.  Another one of my Dad's sisters, Aunt Joanne, got stuck with my four brothers!  But since she raised seven boys, Ithink she was delighted to have them.

Be sure to check back tomorrow morning.  I have a cool thing to show you with the Build a Brads!

Here's the recipe for my Challenge Card:

Stamp Sets:  Heartfelt Thanks, Itty Bitty Backgrounds

Ink:  Basic Gray, Soft Sky

Card Stock:  Basic Gray, Soft Sky, Whisper White

Accessories:  Vintage Brads, Soft Sky Double Stitched Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sponge Daubers

Thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow!

How to Double the Fun--Tart and Tangy, Sweet Celebrations

Have you ever sat down to stamp a card and just couldn't figure it out?  When that happens to me, I look back at other cards or examples that I have and try to use a layout that's already been created.  Sometimes I even use the same color combo and just change the stamp set.  These two cards that I made are a perfect example of this.  The Tart and Tangy card I made for a swap.  The Sweet Celebrations card I made for my upline's meeting.  I used the same color combo and same layout--I just switched out the stamp set.  So next time you are having a creative block--look through your stash of cards/examples!

Blogger's Challenge and Sketch Challenge--Using up Scraps

These week's Blogger's Challenge is to use the color combo Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Blue Bayou and Soft Sky.  I also wanted to incorporate the SCS Sketch Challenge.  Since I have a few friends that will soon be having babies AND Year After Year is part of the FREE WHEELIN' special, I decided to make this card.  This sketch is perfect for using up those small pieces of scraps of Designer Series Paper.

Card Stock:  Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Soft Sky, Soft Sky DSP, Blue Bayou DSP, Watercolor Paper

Don't forget March Madness--just one more day!

Bali Breeze Box

Here's a box that I used for a Hostess Gift.  The little bag has a sampling of the In Color Double Stitched Ribbons.  The box starts with a square of the Textured Groovy Guava Card Stock, scored at the same length on each side and then scored diagonally in all 4 corners.  Usually, I fold the corners in, but for the front of this box, I folded the two corners on the outside.  I added Antique Brass Jumbo Brads.  A little Groovy Guava Double Stitched Ribbon and Bali Breeze DSP completes the project.  Very simple, huh?

Balibreezebox

Stop by tomorrow for my Blogger's Challenge.  I'm anxious to participate this week again.  Last week I was out of town for my Grandma's funeral.  She lived to 90 years and had all of her 6 children and 23 of 25 grandchildren there to say good bye and to celebrate all the wonderful memories.  In the next week, I'll share some of the scrapbook pages that I've created over the last few years that feature my Grandma.

Thanks for visiting!
