A Final "Get On Board with Chipboard" Example

Today's it--the last day to get all the chipboard you want at a 25% discount.  Be sure to email me early with your order so that I can process your order on time!

This card is one of the projects from the May Box of Stampin' Supplies.  It features a flower chipboard from On Board Blossoms and Basics.

S6300906

This card was inspired by a card I saw on SCS.  I really like the Wild Wasabi "canvassy" design from the Afternoon Tea DSP--it's perfect to stamp on!

If you missed the May Box of Stampin' Supplies (BOSS), don't worry.  I will have one in June too!  Plus, I will have some awesome Card Kits for you.  My BOSS and Card Kit programs are designed to give you ideas and to make stamping easier for you!  I do all the preliminary work (design, color combo, cutting card stock, etc) and you do the fun stamping!

So...be sure to check back on Monday to see what's in store for June.  And while you're here, be sure to sign up for my newsletter.  I have an awesome "how to" to share--the newsletter will go out on Tuesday, June 3.

Thanks for the visit!

Blogger's Challenge

Happy Friday!  It's Blogger's Challenge day --this week's challenge was "animal".  I don't have a whole lot of animal stamps so I grabbed my trusty stamp set, Wanted.  I used a layout similar to a swap that I just participated in.  I also used some chipboard--which remember is on sale only until tomorrow.  Click here for all the details.

Animalchallenge

I sponged the piece of chipboard with Chocolate Chip ink and then I sanded it a little to give it a leathery look.  It's not that visible on this picture, but it looks really good in real life.

Remember you can order the Fresh Cuts stamp set and Fresh Cuts notes starting on Sunday!  Click here for all the information.

Want both of them free?  You have one more day to earn them free if you join my SU! team in May.  Click here for all the information.

Thanks for the visit!

How many of you have this stamp set and the coordinating notes on your wish list for June?  My guess is that most of you do!   It's such a great deal getting the notes for only $5!

I've been having a lot of fun with the stamp set.  I especially like the "leafy" stamp.  I think it works well on this card.

Celebrate Inspiration

It's been awhile since I've created an "inspired by" card.  I've been eyeing the Kleenex box, knowing that it would be a perfect "inspiration" piece.  So here's my inspiration and my card.

Kleenexinspiration

Isn't this fun?  I used all of the circle punches that SU! carries (except the Double Circle).  The base of the card is Real Red.  Then there's a layer of Tempting Turquoise (if you look closely at the Kleenex, you'll see a thin strip of turquoise).  Circles are made from Real Red, Rose Red, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery and Whisper White.

Here's a picture of just the card.

Kleenexinspiration2

I added "celebrate" from Everyday Flexible Phrases because I want to use this as a birthday card.

I hope you enjoy this card.  Get your circle punches out and create your own "celebrate" card!

Happy Memorial Day--Celebrate Freedom

This post is dedicated and in honor of all the men and women who have risked their lives for our freedom.  Thank you!!!

S6300978

I was inspired by the Mother's Day card my husband gave to me.  It had hearts punched out with a backing of designer paper.  So my card is Blue Bayou with a 1" strip cut from the top and bottom.  Then I punched a large and small star.  I backed the front with a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of Western Sky Designer Series Paper.  I added a few more punched stars.  The words are printed from the computer and punched with the Word Window Punch.

Fresh Cuts Sneak Peek!

Stampin' Up! has announced they will offer a sneak peek from the new Fall/Winter Idea Book and Catalog in June to all customers!  Woo hoo!  The brand spankin' new stamp set is called Fresh Cuts.  But what makes the sneak peek cool is that you can also purchase Fresh Cut Notes at a discounted price.

Here's a picture of the notes without any stamping.

S6300958

The notes are 4" x 4" and have a laser cut flower!  How awesome is that?  The possibilities to embellish and stamp will be endless!

So here's one that I stamped.  Notice that the 5 Petal Punch coordinates beautifully with these notes.

S6300960

I used the Fresh Cuts stamp set on this card as well.

So now to give you the details.  You can purchase the stamp set for only $21.95 and then get the Fresh Cut Notes for only $5 ($8.95) value.  But, this deal is only in June so be sure to email me on June 1 to be one of the first to get this awesome set and notes!

Do you want to earn the stamp set and notes FREE???  Host a party in June and have $400 in sales and you will get both the stamp set AND notes absolutely FREE!!!  This is in addition to the normal hostess benefits (two Level 1 stamp sets OR one Level 1 and one Level 2 plus $45 in merchandise).  I only have a few dates in June left so be sure to call me (815-609-5519) right away to set your date.

If you would like to host a "catalog party" you can do that as well.  Just be sure to collect at least $400 in orders (before shipping and tax) so that you get the Fresh Cuts deal free!  I can ship an order to anywhere in the U.S.!

Find all the information on this special right here.

OK, do you want another sneak peek at this awesome stamp set?  Why, of course you do!

S6300976

This card is for a swap.  I used only the Fresh Cuts stamp set.  Colors are Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip, Barely Banana and Bashful Blue.

I stamped the background stamp from the set on Whisper White using Chocolate Chip ink.  Then I restamped just the leaf using Barely Banana.  I cut the leaf out and glued it to the Chocolate Chip image, off setting it just a bit to give a shadow.  I stamped the little flower on Bashful Blue using Bashful Blue ink.  I cut out the flower and added it with a Stampin' Dimensional.  The main circles are cut using the Coluzzle System and the scallop edge is created with the Corner Rounder punch.

Thanks for the visit.  Remember to give me a call to set your June date or to let me know you are going to do a catalog party so that you can earn the Fresh Cuts deal FREE!!!!

Blogger's Challenge and a Bead Tutorial

This week's Blogger's Challenge is a color combo: red, white and blue.  Of course I immediately thought of the 4th of July and firecracker.  I'm not sure I pulled off the "firecracker", so I'm telling you, "This is a firecracker".  LOL!!  And, as promised, I have a quick tutorial on how to incorporate beads and staples on your projects.

S6300973

Does it look a firecracker to you?  I sure hope so!

S6300967

First, you need small glass beads like the Duo Beads Stampin' Up! sells.  I used the Blue and the Red on this card.  You also need staples and you will notice that I slightly straightened one end of the staple.  This makes it easier to get the beads on.

S6300969

Put a few beads into the palm of your hand.  Then take the staple and "pick up" a bead.  Repeat until the main part of your staple is full (about 5 beads).  The long tube beads do not work well for this project.  Use just the round beads.

S6300970

Here's what  your staple will look like after you add the beads.  Notice that I bent the side that I had slightly straightened earlier.

S6300971

Next lay your staple where you want the ends to go.  Use a needle and punch tiny holes (the Paper Piercer holes are too big) for your staple.  Push the staple ends through the holes you created.

S6300972

Carefully turn your card stock over and push down the ends of the staples.  If you want, place a piece of Scotch Tape over the ends.

S6300975

Now finish your card.  Here's a close up of the beads on my card.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.  If you need to purchase the Duo Beads so that you can use this technique, email me.  Order several of the colors and you can make a "rainbow" on your staples!

Thanks for the visit!!

Silver Beads Wedding Card

Here's one of the cards we made in last night's WOW! class.  I am soooo happy with this card.  I wish I had a wedding to go to!  Although, it would make a great Anniversary card too.

S6300955

I know the picture isn't the greatest, but the card is Whisper White with a layer of Basic Black and then blocks of Brushed Silver.  I used the cake from Year After Year.  The "frosting" is made from the Silver Micro Beads.  Isn't that cool?  Here's a close up.

S6300956

Then we used the Silver Glass beads on staples (yep, regular ol' staples) to "connect" the blocks.  Stay tuned and I will have a quick tutorial on how to add the beads and staples (some time this weekend).  Here's a close up of the glass beads.

S6300957

I think all the ladies had fun with the class.  I know they did a great job on their projects.

Thanks for the visit and be sure to check back to learn how to add the beads and staples to your cards!
