Sorry I'm posting late tonight. Today was a very busy day for me. I took down all of the Christmas decorations. I know it's seem so soon, but since I'm going to Leadership on Tuesday, I had to get it done. And I'm glad it's over!
Have you noticed the changes in my blog? Just a few color changes and a new photo of me. Yep, I got my hair cut off. Every once in awhile you need a change and what better time than the New Year (although my hair's been short for a few months--it was in anticipation of the New Year, lol)? I also went to Michelle's blog and ordered a new signature line and a new watermark. She made them to coordinate with my blog banner. I'm really happy with both!
Now for the Trash to Treasure. Well, my starting project wasn't really trash, but it certainly needed some updating. Remember when the "candle gardens" first came out and they were very popular? I had one since then and the candles were looking a little drab. So here's my transformation...
These were so simple to make. I cut 2 inch strips of the Hawaiin Papaya Designer Series Paper and wrapped it around each candle. I used Tombow Adhesive to glue it down. Then I cut a strip of the 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain and adhered it with SNAIL. The flowers are made with the Big Shot and the Baskets and Blooms Big XL Die. The flower is Tangerine Tango and backed with River Rock (sorry, it's retired, but I wanted a more muted color than Kiwi Kiss). The last step was to adhere the flower with the Circle Rhinestone Brads. I used my Paper Piercer (from the Crafter's Tool Kit) to poke a hole in the candle. Then I just pushed the brad right in. See? Trash to Treasure in little time! Of course, with my transformation, these candles really are for decoration only.
Even though I will be in sunny Florida (and perusing the NEW Spring/Summer catalog--eek, I can't wait!), I will have posts every day for you. Be sure to stop by everyday!
Thanks for the visit!
