Big Shot Bag Tutorial

This weekend at Stamp Camp we made this Big Shot Bag.

     

This bag uses the new SU! Movers and Shapers Curly Label Die.  You can position the Curly Label to cut wherever you want!  And it coordinates with the Curly Label Punch and Stamp Set.

Here's another example of my Big Shot Bag.

 

This bag is a little different because I didn't use the Curly Label Stamp Set and Punch.  Instead, I stamped the sentiment from the Yummy Sale-a-Bration set.

Do you want to learn how to make this bag?  I hope so because here's tutorial just for you!

Start with a piece of card stock (Pink Passion) cut to 4.5" x 12" and score at 5.5" from each side on the long side.  You can see faint white lines where I scored my card stock.  Set this piece aside.

 

Cut a coordinating piece of card stock (Pixie Pink) to 5.5" x 4.25".  This piece will fit perfectly into the magnet side of the Mover and Shaper Die.  Run the die through your Big Shot.

 

 

Your Pixie Pink piece will now look like this.  Now you need to trim this to 5 1/8" to 4 1/8".  You could start with a piece this size, but it's easier to center when the piece is the exact size of the magnet part of the die.

 

 

  Next you will run this piece through the SU! Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plate (use the small dots).  Your sandwich is Tab 1 of Multipurpose Platform, piece of card stock (optional--makes the embossing a little deeper), Texturz Plate (side you want is facing up), Pixie Pink card stock (good side down), Texturz Silicone Rubber and then Texturz Impressions Pad.

 

 

This is what your piece will look like now.  I love adding the texture to the card stock--really adds a lot to your project!

 

 

 

You also need to cut Scallops for the closing on the bag.  The Whisper White piece is the Scallop Circle Bigz Die.  The Pink Passion piece is the Scallops Circle 2 Bigz Die.  Once I cut out the scallops, I used the large dot SU! Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plate to emboss them.  Use the same sandwich as you did for the Pixie Pink piece.

 

 

Now you are read to put the bag together.  Fold your two scallops in half and adhere together.  Adhere one half to the backside of your bag.  Embellish with a Pretties Flower and Rhinestone Brad or just a ribbon (look at first example of bag). 

For this bag, you need a piece of Whisper White card stock cut to 5.25" x 4 .25".  Stamp your sentiment (or adhere your Curly Label punch) to where the opening is.  Then layer your Pixie Pink piece on top with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I have a velcro dot to hold my flap closed.

 

I put some home baked bar cookies (thanks, Mom!) in a medium cello bag to give away as my "yummy treat".

That's it--your bag is complete!

Another Trendy Trees Mono Masking

Here's another Trendy Trees Mono Masking (Technique Junkies) card.  This is my "technique card" for February's Stamp Camp.  The color combo comes for the SCS Color Challenge a few weeks ago.

 

In my first Mono Masking card posted here, I added the layer that had the trees.  For this second card, the trees are stamped directly on the Whisper White card stock.  I'm really happy with the results.

Blogger's Challenge--Valentine's Day!

Happy Friday (the 13th)!!!  Today is Blogger's Challenge and the theme is Valentine's Day!  I have two projects to show you.  (yes, I'm an over achiever, lol!)

 

First is the "group" photo of the Valentine treats my 5th grade son is bringing to school.  He actually designed these with just a bit of help from me.  The Whisper White card stock is cut 8 1/2" x 2 1/2" and scored at 3 1/2", 3 3/4" and 7 1/4".  We stamped the card stock with the 3 heart image from Love You Much in Real Red ink.

 

Then we stapled the heart bag inside each treat holder.

 

 

The tag image is from Happy Heart Day.  We layered it onto a Real Red tag.

OK, here's the next project.  This project is actually a raffle for my Stamp Camp in Plainfield, IL tonight.  Some lucky stamper is going to win it!

 

I'm happy with this little pail.  To decorate it, I first stamped the 3 heart image from Love You Much onto Whisper White Decor Element sheet.  I used Blazing Red Stazon.  Then I punched them out using the Heart to Heart Punch.  I wasn't sure if it would work, but it did!  They applied very easily to the pail.

Then I stamped the scallop image from Love You Much with Riding Hood Red and punched with the Scallop Circle Punch.  I used Sticky Strip to add them to the York Peppermint Patties.  The back have a plain Riding Hood Red Circle Scallop.  Each stick has a Riding Hood Red or Pink Pirouette Striped Ribbon bow too.

Fun and Bright Flowers

I went to Card Positioning Systems to find another sketch and liked the CPS102.  If you are ever in need of a good sketch, you gotta go to CPS.

Here's the sketch:

 

I didn't want to use a heart so I took some liberty and used the Simple Flower Embosslit. 

 

What do you think of these colors?  I think they are fun and bright.  This card is somewhat eclectic.  I think the style of the Simple Flower Embosslit is different from Baroque Motifs and the Eyelet Border.  But, it's works for me!

Trendy Trees Gets Springy!

Normally I'm working at this time, but the one program I use (I work from home) is being upgraded.  So what's a girl to do?  Why, stamp! 

I checked out this week's color challenge and thought it would be perfect with Trendy Trees.  I also used last week's sketch challenge.  Here's what happened...

 

I used the SU! Backgrounds Texturz Plates on my Kiwi Kiss piece.  Here's a close up in case you can't see them.

 

I like the little dots with the bigger dots on the Pink Pirouette DSP.  So what do you think?  Do you like Pink Pirouette and Perfect Plum trees?  I'm sure I've seen them somewhere...lol!

Branch Out and Sale-a-Bration

Thoughts and Prayers Birthday

Yesterday was my Mom's 70th Birthday!  I hope I age like she does because she doesn't look even close to 70.  I wanted a really pretty card for her and since I think Thoughts and Prayers is sooooo beautiful, I turned to it.

 

I used Certainly Celery and Real Red Markers to color the image.  Isn't it just a beautiful image?  Definitely one of my favorites from this catalog! I also used some of SU!'s new White Organdy Ribbon.  I was going to dye it Real Red, but decided to keep it white.  This ribbon is a "must have" and since it's easily dyed, you can use it on every project.  One other new toy I used is the SU! Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates.  Here's a close up...

 

Adding that texture really make a big difference in your card.  If you want to get "hands on" experience with the texturz plate, come to February's Stamp Camp.  Or you can host a party--we will do a make and take using the texturz plates.  Email me if you would like to set a date!
