Today is Blogger's Challenge and the theme is "Alther It". For some reason I struggled with the theme this week (even though I have a boatload of "alterable" items). But, finally I settled on altering an old CD.
I really like this picture that was taken in October while Apple Picking. From left to right is my niece Jeanette, my Mom, my sister Debbie, me and my niece Jessica. I've wanted to do a special project with this photo so it worked out well. I plan on taking it to work and hang on my bulletin board.
I first cut a 4 3/4" circle from Riding Hood Red with the Circle Scissors Plus. The Anywhere Glue Sticks are perfect for adhering card stock to the CD. Then I traced the curve parts of the CD on my photo and cut it. I layered it on Basic Black card stock.
My flower is made with the Big Shot and Daisies #2 Bigz Die. I used the smaller two daisies--two of Riding Hood Red and one of Basic Black. I layered all the flowers and then added a Pewter Jumbo Eyelet. To punch the hole in the CD for the other Jumbo Eyelet, I used the Crop--a-Dile. The Crop-a-Dile cuts through a CD like butter!
If you have a special photo to showcase, think about mounting it on a CD--it would make a great gift for Mother's Day or Father's Day!
Thanks for the visit!

Oh Sheryl!! Oh Sheryl!! I've been wondering what I could possible do for the mom of the children we're caring for Mother's Day. It had to be small enough to easily mail over to Afghanistan. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for this fabulous idea. Hope you don't mind if I steal it ;-)
You did a wonderful job on this - I'm loving that daisy die but don't own it.
