Good Sunday Morning! As promised, I have a card doing double duty for a couple of challenges. First is the CPS Sketch challenge. Here's the sketch.
The other challenge is on Our Creative Corner. They asked us to use a favorite color combo. Well, talk about a challenge!!! I have a lot of "favorites", but I narrowed it down to one that I've used a few times recently: Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum and Baja Breeze.
To make the rose, I stamped the large rose from Fifth Avenue Floral twice on Perfect Plum and once on Elegant Eggplant. Then I just cut different layers and sponged all of the edges with Elegant Eggplant . The layers are adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. This is the Paper Tole technique. Here's a close up view.
I used my Big Shot and the Bigz Top Note in Elegant Eggplant and Baja Breeze. Then I trimmed the edge of the Baja Breeze piece. I stamped it with another flower from Fifth Avenue Flower and sponged the edges.
To make my ribbon, I took 3 pieces of Elegant Eggplant Grosgrain and taped the ends together on one side. I taped that end to my table and braided the three pieces. When I got to the end, I took another piece of tape to hold the ends together. TIP: Your ribbon needs to be cut about an 1 1/2" longer than you would normally need. I hope you like the result of the braided ribbon and can find use for it on your own cards!
Be sure to check out these challenge websites and join in on the fun!
