Happy Memorial Day!! My card is dedicated to all of the brave men and women who fought and continue to fight for our freedom and for all of their families. Thank you!!!
I'm using the sketch from i{heart}2stamp today. When I saw the star, I immediately knew I would make it a patriotic card. For the checkered panel, Jen stated to "do something different"...so I did. I looked though all of my stamp sets (not an easy task, lol) to find a perfect star and found the one from the hostess set, Darling Dots. Then I saw the heart from that set as well and my card came together.
I could not have made this card without my Stamp-a-ma-Jig. I drew a soft line to help line up stars on the right side. Once I stamped the stars, I cut out the right edge. I really like the edge and I think it qualifies for "something different".
Then I cut out a Whisper White oval with the Coluzzle. Again, using the SAMJ, I stamped my hearts and then added the "usa". A little sponging around the edges makes the oval pop. Not a terribly difficult card to make, unless you have to eyeball your stars!
Card Details:

I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day! Thanks for the visit!
