Tulipe Bigz Die and Juntos Designer Series Paper

I took advantage of the special myself and ordered some of the Juntos DSP that's featured in the Celebrando Creatividad.  The colors are so "Tuscany"--I love them!  But the real reason that I got this DSP is so that I can make some cards to send to my niece in Spain.  Perfect, huh?  And whatever I have left over, I'll give to her so she can use them in her "Spain Scrapbook".

So here's my first card for Jessica.  I'm using the sketch from Our Creative Corner and I HAD to play with my new Tulipe Bigz Die (exclusive to SU!).  I'll show you the card and then read on for my explanation.

 

I used one of the More Mustard patterns from Juntos DSP to make my Tulipe.  As you can seen, I only added part of it.  This die coordinates well with the DSP--it has some flourishes too.  Then I masked the Tulipe and sponged some Really Rust ink around the die.  It looks better in real life (not as blotchy).

Instead of the 3 panels with brads that are under the focal image in the sketch, I tried something different.  I made my own photo corners and layered More Mustard onto Basic Black.  I used the 3/4" and 1 1/4" Square Punches to make the corners.  I didn't take any photos of how to do that, but I will and will post them this week.  The Always Artichoke is another pattern from the Juntos DSP.

I am super pleased with my card and I know Jessica will love it too.  Really, I think she would love a piece of scrap paper with a note on it right now since she's so far away from home, lol!
