Another Very Thankful (Ronald McDonald set)

Good Friday Morning!  It's Blogger's Challenge today and the challenge is using this sketch.  It's a pretty straight forward sketch and one I know I'll use again.  My panels of DSP are a little different than the sketch, but that's called "creative liberty". lol!

Here's what I did with the sketch.

 

I used the Ronald McDonald set, Very Thankful, again.  Remember I told you yesterday that it went from fun to fancy?  Yesterday was fancy; today is fun.

I stamped the turtle on Whisper White.  Then I used Animal Stories Designer Series Paper to paper piece the turtle.  Instead of the 3 hearts, I used one heart from the Heart to Heart Punch.  The wagon wheel is an Old Olive brad.  Instead of a sentiment, I used 3 Rose Red brads.  The top panel is Animal Stories DSP matted on Old Olive and a Rose Red card base.  I used Old Olive and Rose Red Grosgrain where the two patterns of paper meet.

Ronald McDonald House Charities

I used Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Garden Green Stampin' Write Markers to color in the peacock.  TIP:  Color the entire bird with Bermuda Bay and then add Garden Green to the circles on the feathers.  I used Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo card stock and then Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper for the top panel.  A bit of Melon Mambo Polka Dot Grosgrain finishes my card.

Totally Tool Sketch

On Saturday, my brother is coming down to help build a wall where some French doors are.  I know I want to send him a thank you card so using Totally Tool was kind of a "no brainer".  My card also follows this weeks sketch challenge on SCS.

 

It's really a simple card, but perfect for the occasion.  I stamped the image from Totally Tool with Black Stazon.  Then using More Mustard, Close to Cocoa and Going Grey Stampin' Write Markers, I watercolored the saw.  Using Watercolor Paper is really a must--it's perfect!  I added 3 Silver Brads and gave them a clunk with my hammer to distress them (this is how our saw looks, lol).  The Chocolate Chip and More Mustard panels are embossed with my Big Shot and Texture #4 plates (woodgrain).  The mattes are Basic Black and my card base is Close to Cocoa.

I have another busy "run around" day, but I'm going to try to get another challenge card in for today.  Be sure to check back later.

Heart to Heart Punch Butterflies

Today is a busy run around day, but I was able to get a little stamping in this morning.  I wanted to use the Heart to Heart Punch that is the Deal of the Week.  I decided it would work with the Color Challenge on SCS and the CPS sketch for the week.

 

This is definitely a "girlie" card.  I need to see if I can make a masculine card with the colors--now that would be a challenge! 

I used my Pixie Pink, Certainly Celery and Apricot Appeal Stampin' Write Markers to color in the flower image from Upsy Daisy.  It's stamped on Whisper White.  The Apricot Appeal panel is embossed with the Big Shot and Texture #1 plate.  My Pixie Pink butterflies are made with 2 hearts from the Heart to Heart Punch.  The boys is a Certainly Celery Horizontal Punch.  I sponged the Pixie Pink hearts to give a little more color.

From the Crypt

If you like Halloween, just go ahead and order From the Crypt and Cast a Spell Designer Series Paper right now (click here to order).  You will NEED them!  lol  I immediately put From the Crypt on my "must have" list--it's a really cool stamp set.

 

My card follows the Sketch For You to Try on Jen's blog.  I started by stamping the skull image on Whisper White.  I got the idea from Lisa to add a little bling to the eye socket with a Ice Circle Rhinestone.  I think that's my favorite part!

I stamped the bat and spider on Whisper White and cut them out (OK, a little time consuming but well worth it).  I used Cast a Spell DSP and my card stock colors are Perfect Plum, Basic Black and Old Olive.  The "happy halloween" is from All Holidays.

Another Faux Iris Folding Butterfly

 

Last month Pam missed Stamp Camp when we made this Faux Iris Folding Butterfly (Technique Junkies).  So...she asked me to take my Stamp Camp on the road so she could make one of these cards.  I'm meeting up with her and 6 friends to have Stamp Camp today!

I reworked this card to use current supplies and this is what I came up with.  I really love these colors together!

 

My colors are inspired by the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper.  It's faint, but you can kind of see the embossing on the Pumpkin Pie panel.  I used my Big Shot and the Texture Plates #1.  I also used the Beautiful Butterfly Bigz Die to cut out the butterfly.  The Faux Iris Folding is done with Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. 

My card base is Rich Razzleberry and there's a layer of Melon Mambo.  I stamped "celebrate" from Fundamental Phrases and punched it out with the Large Oval Punch.  It's layered on the Scallop Oval Punch and then Wide Oval Punch.  My finishing touches are Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Grosgrain and uniball Signo Gel Pen dots around the butterfly.

Christmas in July!

It's Friday and that means Bloggers' Challenge!  Our theme this week is Christmas in July.  Since I just got some of the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper, I knew I had to use it.  My card is doing triple duty too.  Not only is it Bloggers' Challenge, but it follows the sketch on The Fresh Batch and the theme on Our Creative Corner (use 3 embellishments--I used ribbon, buttons and hodgepodge hardware).

 

It's kind of a busy card, but I really like how it turned out. 

First I stamped the tree from Season of Friendship (I'm so glad SU! kept this stamp set) in Old Olive.  Then I stamped the bird in Real Red and the snowflakes in Garden Green and Chocolate Chip.  I covered the bird with Crystal Effects.

I used a piece of the Merry Moments DSP for the main panel (matted with Chocolate Chip and on a  Real Red card base).  The ribbon is the new 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain.  This ribbon is super easy to work with even though it's wide.  I added a few buttons from Playground Buttons and Button Latte.  Then I stamped "be merry" from Warm Words, punched it out with the Designer Label Punch and framed it with a piece of Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge (on sale this week).

A Couple of Get Well Cards

I have my friend's girls here today while my friend is at the doctor.  Nothing too serious, but I know the girls like to stamp so I thought they might want to make a card for their Mom.

Fall Paradise

Have I told you how much I like the new stamp set, Paradise?  Just in case, let me tell you again--I love the new stamp set, Paradise!  lol 

For my card today, I got in the "fall" mood and made a thank you card following the SCS Sketch Challenge.

 

My colors are Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango and Old Olive.  I ran the Old Olive and Dusty Durango Panel through my Big Shot using the Wood Grain Texture Plate (from Texture Plates #4).  The wood grain is going in opposite directions for the two panels.  Then I stamped "thanks so much" from Trendy Trees using Black Stazon onto Twill Tape.  My leaves are punched out with the 1 1/4" Square Punch and matted onto 1 3/8" Squares.  The final touch is Crushed Curry faux brads using Crystal Effects.
