I knew I "needed" the new Stamp Set, Extreme Elements, when I saw it. It is such a cool stamp set and the possibilities are endless! I really like how it is showcased in the Idea Book and Catalog, but it's not just for sports. I have two very different cards to share with you today. Both feature Extreme Elements.
My first card uses the sketch for the week on CPS.
You can see that I used the largest image from Extreme Elements to create a cloud of dust for the horse from Wanted. Doesn't that work perfectly? My colors are Crushed Curry and Soft Suede. The panel of DSP is from Thoroughly Modern. I used the Cutter's Tool Kit to distress the sides of my main image. The final touch is Natural Hemp.
My next card to share uses several of the images from Extreme Elements to create a background.
The background colors are light because I stamped off the ink before stamping on my Whisper White card stock. The colors are Ruby Red, Brocade Blue, Crushed Curry and Certainly Celery (my inspiration was the Happy B-Day Scrappin' Kit). Once I had my background done, I used Tres Chic in Basic Black to cover it. I used "fabulous friend" from Oval All, but I inked up just the words with my Ruby Red Stampin' Write Marker.
I used the Large, Scallop and Wide Oval Punches to create the greeting. And what do you think of my Basic Black Corduroy Button? What? We don't sell that color corduroy button? That's OK, I took a Kraft Corduroy Button and dyed it with Basic Black. Be sure to heat sel the button with your Heat Tool. Three Basic Black Brads in the top left corner finish off the card. Did you know we now sell the Paper Piercer separatley? I used that with the Mat Pack to place my brads perfectly.
So what do you think? I have I convinced you that Extreme Elements has a lot of uses? If not, keep checking back--I have a few more ideas. And in case you didn't catch the SU! Special (click here), Extreme Elements is one of the sets that counts towards the $35 to get the FREE buttons!
Hope you enjoyed my cards today. Thanks for the visit!

WOW, I am really surprised how wonderful this set is now that I've seen your cards, I would have never thought of that! Fabulous cards, both of them. I love how you made your own background paper. Thanks for sharing.
