Batty For You Halloween Set

Another Friday and another Bloggers' Challenge!  This week our theme is Halloween.  I wanted to use some non traditional Halloween paper so I grabbed my Nouveau Chic Designer Series Paper.  I think this paper is very pretty and can work with a lot of themes.  Remember I used it for a Christmas card the other day and today it's working perfectly for Halloween!

My box is made with my Big Shot and the Fancy Favors XL Bigz Die in Sage Shadow card stock.  I layered the front with Basic Black and Nouveau Chic DSP.  To get the same fancy cut at the top, I simply traced the design on my DSP and card stock and cut it free hand.  I stamped the bat from Batty for You on Whisper White with Basic Black ink and punched it with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch.

My card follows this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  I stamped the spider image on Whisper White card stock and punched it out with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch.  It's layered on a 1 3/4" Circle Punch of Basic Gray.  The 3 panels are Nouveau Chic DSP matted with Basic Gray.  The card base is Sage Shadow.  This card was super easy and quick to make since most of my design comes from the DSP.  I can see using this layout for any holiday!

Dasher

Here's another card we made at the Christmas Stamp a Stack.  Did you know that this stamp, Dasher, is less than $10?  It's a great deal!  If you missed my other example click here.

I got the idea of stamping Dasher on two colors of card stock from the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit.  We cut the Old Olive and Certainly Celery card stock with the Cutter Tool Kit so that the cut was exactly the same.  Then we adhered these pieces, making sure they were flush, to the Very Vanilla card stock.  Then we stamped Dasher with Old Olive ink.  We used the Snowflake Punch with Very Vanilla card stock.  The background panel is from Merry Moments Designer Series Paper.  We stamped "happy holidays" from Many Merry Messages with Old Olive ink.  The final touch was 2 Way Glue and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on Dasher's horns and the snowflake.

Delightful Decorations--I CASEd Myself!

Saturday was my Christmas Stamp a Stack--thanks to the ladies that attended!  I think everyone had some fun and liked the cards.  Here's one of the cards we made.  It's a CASE of my own card that I posted here.

 
I used the same layout, just different colors.  My colors, Ruby Red and Taken with Teal, are inspired by the Holiday Lounge Designer Series Paper.  I stamped the two ornaments in those colors and used the Ornament Punch.  The layer is created with the Big Shot, Curly Label Movers and Shapers XL Bigz Die and the Holiday Windows Movers and Shapers.  We popped up the ornaments with Stampin' Dimensionals and added Elastic Gold Cording.

My Digital Studio

I have another page from the book that I'm creating with My Digital Studio.  I just love this picture of my boys, especially my youngest, Jackson.  He's making a face in the photo (he's on the left), but his face is totally covered in dirt!  They had so much playing at my Aunt and Uncle's cabin in the mountains.

Thoughts and Prayers Silver Anniversary

My sister and her husband are celebrating their 25th Anniversary this week so I wanted to make them a card.  I used the CPS Sketch, but took some creative liberties as you can see.  I chose to use a rectangle with rounded edges instead of an oval for the focal point.

I stamped the tree from Thoughts and Prayers with Versamark on Brushed Silver card stock.  I used Silver Embossing Powder to make it shine.  Love from Fundamental Phrases is stamped the same way.  My ribbon is the Whisper White Organza and Elastic Silver Cording.  My larger Brushed Silver layer was run through my Big Shot with the Texture #1 Plates.  I added layers of Basic Black and Whisper White card stock and called it done.  My sister loves the silver so I think she'll really like this card too.

Holy Triptych Clean and Simple

Good Friday Morning!  Yeah, it's the weekend!  And since it's Friday, you know what that means--Bloggers' Challenge.  This week the challenge is a "No Layer" card.  This was a fun challenge and I knew immediately what I wanted to do.

My only piece of card stock is 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Whisper White.  I ran it through the Big Shot and the Petals a Plenty Embossing Folder.  But, as you can see, the center of the card stock is not embossed.  Magic?  Nah--I saw this on a few different websites and the trick is to insert a frame in the embossing folder with the piece of card stock.  I didn't have a chance to buy a wood frame, so I made a frame from the On Board Book Basic and Scallop #2 Bigz Die.

I'll try to have a tutorial for you to post next week, but the ladies that are coming to my Christmas Stamp a Stack on Saturday will learn first hand how to do this cool technique.

Once I embossed my card stock, I stamped my Holy Family image from Holy Triptych with Bravo Burgundy ink.  And that's it--I'm done!  How's that for a fast, but pretty card?

Real Red Delightful Decorations

The Christmas Cocoa Specialty Designer Series Paper (from the Holiday Mini) has 2 patterns that are "flocked".  The texture of this paper is beautiful and can really add to your Christmas projects.  My card today, which follows the Mojo Monday design, features the Real Red flocked pattern.

 
This sketch is perfect to show off the Mini Library Clips, which are on sale this week with the Deals of the Week.  I sometimes struggle to use a clip on my cards, but I'm really pleased with the results here.  My Silver Elastic Cording bow is glued on with just a dot of Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive.

Jumbo Grommet "BOO"!

One of the items on this week's Deals of the Week is the Basic Jumbo Grommets.  These grommets are perfect for embellishing with ribbon, but I decided to use mine in a more playful way.

I stamped the "b" from Jumbo Outline Alpha with Basic Black ink on the Night and Day Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini.  Then I cut it out and used two of the Basic Black Jumbo Grommets for the "o's".  It looked a little blank so I added two 5/16" Whisper White brads in the middle. 

My little ghosts are made with the Small Oval Punch and Whisper White card stock.  I just cut the oval to size and added eyes with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.  My panel is more of the Night and Day DSP matted on Basic Black card stock and a Whisper White card base.
