Good Friday Morning! For those of you brave enough to shop on this Friday morning, good luck in finding all of your treasures! I am not one of those people, so I'll share this project instead.
Today is Bloggers' Challenge and our theme is "Alter It". Well, I'm altering something a bit unusual--a piece of aluminum flashing (yep, the flashing used on houses). Take a look.
I used the Flower Folds Bigz XL Die and my Big Shot to create the candleholder base. Then to hold the tealight candle, I used the small flower from Daisies #2 Bigz Die. I've seen this idea with the Snowflake Bigz Die and thought it would work just as well with the Flower Folds. You do have to be careful working with the flashing because it can be sharp.
I glued the different pieces together with a hot glue gun. Although since I plan to make more, I'm going to the hardware store and getting some kind of adhesive to use with metal (I'm sure something exists, right?).
ETA: I could not remember where I saw the snowflake candle holder that I referred to above, but Wanda commented and now I know I saw it on her site.
Thanks for the visit!

Wow...not that's cool! I would never in a million years thought to do this. Now I just might need some of that "flashing" for my Big Shot...hmmm...what else can I cut out!?! Great project, Sheryl.

Beautiful candle holder!!! I would love to do this project as I make my own soy candles and would love to add this holder......Did you purchase your flashing material at Lowe's or Home Depot? What gauge is your flashing? I tried to use the flashing from Home Depot for the 5-point star die cut; however, it was to thick. Thanks for any information you can share...

Beautiful... Will you please share with us where you bought the material to make the candle holder. I've tried Home Depot and have had no luck there. Additionally what weight is the metal?

Sheryl I love this and want to make it. I bought the aluminum at Home Depot in a roll and tried to cut something smaller out (till I get my extended Premium Crease Pad for the folded flower die) but it did not cut through. Can you tell me what the sandwich is for this? Did you use a shim?
Thank you.
