Sweet Pea Challenge

I have another sketch challenge from a few weeks ago on SCS.  This card focuses on the Sweet Pea products from the Occasions Mini.  The Occasions Mini ends April 30.  If you love the Sweet Pea DSP as much as I do, make sure you get it now.  You can order online 24/7!

I used patterns from the Sweet Pea DSP for each panel.  On the focal panel, I added Sweet Pea Stitched Felt.  Thanks is from Fundamental Phrases.  It's stamped on a pattern of Sweet Pea DSP and punched with the Small Oval Punch.  I used a Large Oval Punch of Chocolate Chip for the layer.

ACS Relay for Life Class

American Cancer Society-Relay for Life Class

Do you want to donate to my ACS Relay for Life team AND make a few great cards?  If so, join me for my ACS Relay for Life class!  Here are the three designs.

The class will be held on Friday, April 30 at 7pm at my house in Plainfieid, IL.  You will make 2 of each of the 3 cards shown above.  The cost is only $20 and $15 of that will go to the ACS Relay for Life team that I am on through work.

My cards use some of the colors that we will say good bye to come July 1 (if you didn't see my post on the Color Renovation, click here).

At the class I will have light snacks, soft drinks and door prizes.  Plus, I have a few specials for attendees only.  It's going to be a FUN evening!

Extreme Guitar Bloggers' Challenge

Happy Friday!  Today's Bloggers' Challenge is a sketch.

I planned ahead this time and actually used this sketch for one of my Stamp Camp cards that we made last weekend.  Wasn't that smart?   lol

Actually, when I saw the sketch, I knew Extreme Guitar would work perfectly and I needed a "masculine" card for Stamp Camp.

I pulled out my Stampin' Pastels, which we have not used for a VERY long time, to make the background.

 
  
We first stamped Extreme Guitar on Whisper White using Black Stazon.  Black Stazon is the better choice for ink so you are sure not to smear it when applying the Stampin' Pastels.  Then we took Sponge Daubers and simply rubbed on the Stampin' Pastels.  We used Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip and Taken with Teal. 

The four panels are made with the Sweet Pea DSP.  I think the circle design is perfect with the guitarist.  It kind of has a "groovy" feeling, doesn't it?  The card base is So Saffron.

Trendy Trees

We made this card at Stamp Camp on Friday.  I chose this set because it's one you can get for 20% off during the month of April only!  To see all the details of the Two Step into Spring special, click here.

To make this card, I first used the Cutter Took Kit on a piece of scrap paper to make the guide for the grass and sky.  Then we did a type of Polished Stone technique to create each.  We used a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol with 3 drops of re inker (Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and Bordering Blue) to create the background.  Usually Polished Stone has a silver or gold reinker involved, but we left that out.

Once the background was made, we stamped the Trendy Trees using the Stamp-a-ma-Jig for perfect placement.  Colors are Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Rose Red.  Then to add some fun, we glued on two pieces of the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt (Occasions Mini ends April 30!)).  The Tombow Multi Purpose Glue is perfect for adding the felt.  We stamped "thanks so much" in Rose Red and punched it out with the Modern Label Punch.  We also used an Old Olive punch to create a slight background.  more Sweet Pea Stitched Felt finishes the card.

Well Scripted Mother's Day Card

I'm selling cards at work to benefit the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.  Mother's Day cards are always popular so I made a few of these.

I stamped the hat from Garden From the Heart with Black Stazon on Watercolor paper.  I also used Black Stazon for the "wonderful Mother" from Well Scripted.  I used Crushed Curry ink to watercolor the hat and then Old Olive and Melon Mambo Stampin' Write Markers to color the flowers.  The scarf is paper pieced with a piece of Razzleberry Lemonade DSP.  The background is Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and a piece of Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Grosgrain finishes the card.

I'm going to hold a stamping class at my house in Plainfield to benefit the ACS Relay For Life.  I will have the date nailed down by tomorrow.  I do know the class cost will be $20, $15 will go directly to the ACS.  You will make 6 cards, 2 each of 3 designs.  I will also sell card kits for this.  The cost will be $25 to cover shipping.  I will also email you photos and directions for each card (no images will be stamped).  Be sure to check back tomorrow for the details.

April Stamp Camp Registration

A Good Egg Mini Milk Carton

Happy Good Friday!  Since this weekend is Easter, the Bloggers' Challenge is Easter.  I saved a March Stamp Camp project to share with you today.  It's a Mini Milk Carton that we made with the Big Shot and the Mini Milk Carton Bigz Die.  If you like to make little boxes for treats, this die is a must have for you!

We made the carton from So Saffron.  If you want to stamp on your box, be sure to do that before you assemble.  First we had to trim one of the bottom flaps, so that we could use the Small Oval Punch to make the peekaboo.  We stamped "happy Easter" from a Good Egg on a piece of Window Sheet and adhered that to the inside.  Then we stamped the chick from a Good Egg on all three panels.  Here's a photo of the other two.

We stamped the egg part on different designs of Tea Party DSP and paper pieced those.  The finishing touch was Pretty in Pink flowers with the Trio Flower Punch, a piece of Pretty in Pink Grosgrain, and a Library Clip.

Sincere Salutations Birthday Wishes

My  sister's birthday is tomorrow.  This is the card I made for her.  I used the stamp from Thoughts and Prayers as my inspiration.

I used the leaves from the XL Two Step Bird Punch and the flowers from the Trio Flower Punch to create my focal point.  Two Way Glue works well to adhere the leaves.  Then I added some silver beads from the Silver Bead Duo (you get beads and microbeads).  The beads are a little shinier in real life and add a nice touch of bling.  Birthday Wishes from Sincere Salutations is stamped in Rich Razzleberry.  The background is Cottage Wall DSP.  I also used the Scallop Trim Border Punch--this punch can be yours FREE with a Sale-a-Bration order.

Garden From the Heart

I have a card for you today that features a few items from the Occasions Mini:  Garden From the Heart stamp set, Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon and Sweet Pea DSP.  I also used a few techniques:  watercoloring, out of the box and paper piecing.

I stamped the hat on Watercolor Paper with Black Stazon.  Then I cut around it so that just the sides were hanging out a bit for the out of the box technique.  I stamped the ribbon from the hat on a scrap of Sweet Pea DSP and paper pieced it.  I watercolored the hat and then used Stampin' Write Markers on the flowers.

Very Vintage Stamp Camp Card

I have another Stamp Camp card to share with you.  This card features the Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel from the Occasions Mini.

 
We used the Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel with Bravo Burgundy ink on a strip of Kraft card stock and on a strip of Bravo Burgundy.  The strip of Kraft was distressed with the Cutter Tool Kit and sponged and layered onto a piece of Bravo Burgundy card stock. 

We took the strip of Bravo Burgundy and punched two XL Fancy Flower Punches and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.  The flowers and butterfly were distressed and sponged as well.  The center of the flower is a Kraft Taffeta knot.  Take a piece of the taffeta and tie a knot twice in the center of it.  Then punch a hole in the flower and pull the edges through until the knot is placed.  Then add Stampin' Dimensionals between the two flowers and add to your card.  Here's a few close ups.

Lastly, we stamped "thanks" from Fundamental Phrases on the Kraft background piece and sponged and distressed it as well.

XL Two Step Bird Punch Tulips--Stamp Camp Card

As I'm writing this post, I realize today is March 17, St. Patrick's Day.  I should have an Irish card to show, but I don't.  Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of you!  But I do have another Stamp Camp card that has no stamping!  My card features the XL Two Step Bird Punch.

I wish I could take credit for making tulips from the bird's wing, but I've seen many cards using this idea.  Originally I was going to stamp "wonderful Mother" from Well Scripted on the front, but then decided I like the simple prettiness of the card as is.

My tulips are made with the XL Two Step Bird Punch in Summer Sun and Old Olive.  The Whisper White panel was run through the Big Shot with the Texture Plates #4 (the squares).  I think you can see them.  My card is finished with the Old Olive Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.
