Tropical Party Birthday Card

Don't faint, but I stamped again!  And, I didn't even have a reason--I just stamped!  Woo hoo!  OK, I know this is all kind of silly, but after not stamping for so long, it feels good again.

My card is for this week's sketch on Mojo Monday and for the Critter's Challenge which requires red and stripes.  I decided I better use up some of my Island Oasis DSP from the Summer Mini Catalog before it goes away.  Remember, you can only order from this mini up until August 31!  I used the Tropical Party stamp set from the Summer Mini as well.

I stamped my image with Chocolate Chip ink on Whisper White card stock.  I colored the umbrella and straw with Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, So Saffron and Old Olive.  Then I matted each image that coordinates with the umbrella.  The striped background is from Island Oasis DSP.  "Birthday Wishes" is from the Level 3 hostess set, Occasional Quotes.  It's punched with the Modern Label Punch and is matted with the same shape from the Big Shot Movers and Shapers.  A piece of Pumpkin Pie 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon finishes my card.

Motorcycle

Here's the last of May's Stamp Camp cards.  I love the fact that Stampin' Up! offers these single stamps.  Motorcycle is perfect for masculine cards, even if he's not into motorcycles!

To make this card, we stamped Motorcycle on Whisper White card stock using Basic Black.  We stamped it again on Real Red and cut out the seat and wheel covers.  To give these areas some shine, we added Crystal Effects.  The Real Red panel is stamped with Extreme Elements (part of May's special).  The Brushed Silver background was run through the Big Shot and Texture #1 plates.  A few Silver Brads and more layers of card stock finished the card.

Itty Bitty Bits

Here's another Stamp Camp card.  The card features the Summer Mini set, Itty Bitty Bits and the Itty Bitty Shapes punches.  The layout is from the Summer Mini as well.

The colors for my card were inspired by the Designer Flower Brads:  Pretty in Pink, So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie (you also get Chocolate Chip).  Right now, you can get these brads FREE!!

We stamped the Itty Bitty Bits on Whisper White card stock in the three colors, then punched them out with the coordinating punches.  Next, they are layered on 1/2" Circle Punches.

Tropical Party

i have a Stamp Camp card to share with you today.  This card features the new stamp set, Tropical Party.  This stamp set coordinates with Island Oasis DSP, which is also featured on the card.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Here's the card I made for my Mom for today.  It really could be used for any occasion since I didn't stamp a sentiment on the outside.  My layout comes from this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  I haven't participated in this challenge for a long time, but I really liked the sketch.  You'll see I took some creative liberties and flipped the layout.  Plus, my bow stands in for the oval punch on the sketch.

I started by stamping the flower from Elements of Style with Basic Brown ink (no smears when coloring) on Kraft CS.  Then I stamped again on Real Red CS so I had a few flowers to cut out and pop up on Stampin' Dimensionals.  The other flowers and leaves are given just a little color with the Stampin' Pastels.  The flouris image from Elements of Style in on my vertical piece, again stamped with Basic Brown.  I tied a piece of Real Red Satin Ribbon in place of the oval.  It's hard to see, but I punched a whole in the main panel and threaded the ribbon thru so it would wrap around the vertical panel and the main panel.  Three Vintage Brads finish my card.

Register for May's Stamp Camp by Monday, May 10!

May Stamp Camp Registration Now Open!

Are you ready to join us at the May Stamp Camp?  I hope so!  I have two dates for you this month.  In Plainfield, we will meet on Friday, May 14 at 7pm.  In Hoffman Estates, we will meet on Sunday, May 16 at noon.  Registration deadline for both is Monday, May 10.  Cost is $15 for 5 cards.  As always, bring your adhesive, scissors and stamp cleaner.

Here is one of the cards we will make.  It features the Summer Mini (which started yesterday!) stamp set, Elements of Style and the new Smooch Spritz in Log Cabin.  I can see this spritz becoming VERY addicting!  It's hard to tell in my photo, but the flower is embossed.  I used Versamark and then Soft Suede ink to stamp the image.  Next I embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.

Elements of Style Sneak Peek

As you know, the Summer Mini starts on May 1.  I have a sneak peek of one of the gorgeous new stamp sets called Elements of Style.  Plus, since it's Friday, my card is for Bloggers' Challenge, which is the color combo orange, blue and moss.  I used Stampin' Up! colors Pumpkin Pie, Brocade Blue and Mellow Moss (with a little Old Olive for the leaves).

I stamped the flower image from Elements of Style with Black Stazon on a piece of Watercolor Paper.  Then, using Stampin' Write Markers and an AquaPainter, I watercolored with Pumpkin Pie, Brocade Blue and Old Olive.  Next I added my layers of card stock and I was finished!
