Sweet Pea Designer Series Pack

I have a card for you today that I just love.  It features some of the beautiful paper found in the Sweet Pea Designer Series Pack in the Occasions Mini.  If you follow my blog, you've seen some of the designs already.  Today is a new one.

First, I chose this particular design because it fit perfectly with the sketch on CPS.  Take a look.

Aren't those butterflies beautiful?  And that's the paper!  My 3 strips are more of the Sweet Pea Designer Series Pack, matted with Rose Red.  On the focal image, I added another butterfly using the Butterfly Punch and yet another Sweet Pea pattern.  I added a few of the small Fire Circle Rhinestones for the butterfly's body.

Lastly I stamped "thanks" from Fundamental Phrases on So Saffron with Rose Red ink and added it all to a Old Olive card base.

On a Pedestal

I'm a few days late for Bloggers' Challenge, but better late than never, right?

Our challenge for the week was to follow this sketch.  I like simple layouts like this, especially when my "mojo" isn't quite up to par.

I decided to use a stamp set that I haven't touched for a while--On a Pedestal.  And I wanted to use some of my favorite DSO, Cottage Wall. 

Here's what I came up with.

I stamped the pedestal with Old Olive.  The words are stamped with Rich Razzleberry on Orchid Opulence.  I used my 1 1/4" Square Punch to punch the words out, but then decided to trim the bottom just a little.  My cake is made with Orchid Opulence and Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write Markers and cut out.  The candle is stamped on the base of Whisper White.  My flame is a Fire Circle Rhinestone.

I did a double ribbon treatment using Old Olive Striped Grosgrain and Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Grosgrain.  Instead of a sentiment above the ribbon, I added 3 more Fire Circle Rhinestones. 

Card stock is Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White and Cottage Wall DSP.

Garden From the Heart

I have another Occasions Mini stamp set to share with you.  It's called Garden From the Heart.  This stamp is perfect for spring, Mother's Day, birthdays--any occasion!  My layout follows this week's sketch on Mojo Monday.

Here's what I did.  I cut a 3" circle from Watercolor Paper with my Circle Scissors Plus.  Then, since I have the clear mounted stamp, I stamped my hat from Garden From the Heart.  I was able to place the hat in the center using the clear block!

I colored my hat with AquaPainters and reinkers using Creamy Caramel, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Rose Red.  My scallop circle is Rose Red card stock and made with my Big Shot and Scallops #2 Bigz Die.  I used (again, lol) Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper.  My ribbon is 1/4" Rose Red Grosgrain and I just folded it in a few spots--Mini Glue Dots work perfectly for this.  I also used my Scallop Edge Punch and Double Circle Punch(retired).

Now for a card that showcases the new Occasions Mini stamp set, Fox and Friends.  This is not my typical style stamp set, but I really have come to like it.  I hope you do too!

 
My card follows this week's sketch onCPS.  I stamped the lion from Fox and Friends with More Mustard and cut him out.  Then he's layered on Old Olive and Chocolate Chip.  My background is Animal Stories Designer Series Paper.  I used a piece of Double Stitched Chocolate Chip Grosgrain.  To add a little fun, I frayed the edges just a bit.

Paradise

I'm hoping a warm colored card using my Paradise stamp set brings some warmth to us!  My card is for a couple of challenges.  First the Our Creative Corner challenge this week is Clean and Simple.  While I have a few square layers on my card, I think it still qualifies.  My card is also for the Inspiration Challenge on SCS this week.  I need to participate in this challenge more often--great ideas!

If you check out the inspiration site, I used the Rustic Leaf Glass as my inspiration. 

My colors are Always Artichoke, Dusty Durango, Bravo Burgundy, Creamy Caramel and Close to Cocoa.  I stamped each leaf from Paradise with the same ink as card stock.  I punched the 4 background squares with the 1 3/8" Square Punch.  The middle square is 1 1/4" Square Punch.  To add just a little dimension, I outlined the squares with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.  My card base is Very Vanilla.

Happy New Year! and Bloggers' Challenge

Happy New Year!

 

 I hope 2010 brings a year of peace, happiness, and hope to you and yours!!

Today is Friday, so of course we have Bloggers' Challenge.  The theme is "celebrate".  My card is also fulfilling two other challenges.  On Our Creative Corner, the challenge is to use "food or drinks".  Then on CPS, the challenge is to use any past sketch.  I chose CPS129.

I stamped my drink from Cheers to You on Watercolor Paper with Black Stazon.  I used So Saffron, Rose Red, and Old Olive ink with an AquaPainter to watercolor the images.  I randomly stamped "cheers to you" with Old Olive ink on the Old Olive panel.  Then I colored in just the "cheers" with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and stamped it in the bottom corner.  The striped paper is a sneak peek from the Occasions Mini.  It's a huge stack of DP called Sweat Pea (I've used it several times already, just scroll down).  The ribbon is Double Stitched Rose Red.
