Paradise

My card today was one of June's Stamp Camp cards.  It features the stamp set, Paradise, which is retiring.  If you haven't checked out my promotion for retiring sets, click here.  Remember, the last day to order from the 2010-2011 catalog is Thursday!

Back to my card...I had a beautiful piece of tissue paper that I used as my inspiration.  It's in the photo as well.

 
We did a reversed mask frame (that's what I'm calling it anyways) on this card.  I took a scrap piece of card stock cut 1/4" shorter on each side compared to my Whisper White panel.  Holding the scrap piece down carefully, I sponged with Perfect Plum and a Sponge Dauber all around the edges.  While still holding the scrap piece down, I outlined it with the Perfect Plum Stampin' Write Marker.  Then I covered the sponged area with post it notes and stamped the inside.

My leaves are Perfect Plum and Always Artichoke.  I also used the Spritzer with Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker to add a little spritz.  The Whisper White is adhered to a piece of Always Artichoke and then a Perfect Plum card base.  Lastly, I used the Big Shot and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit with Peach Parfait card stock to add the butterflies.  The bodies are created with Basic Pearl Jewels.

I love this flower set.  Hopefully the girls like it enough to want to cut out the flowers!  I'm not 100% sure I like my sentiment--I may have to rework that a little before Stamp Camp.  But I do like the ribbon--something a little different.

Thoughts and Prayers Mother's Day Card

Good Friday Morning!  Today's I'm sharing a card for Bloggers' Challenge, for which the theme is nature.  This is a pretty broad theme--your stamps can be "nature" or you can use elements of "nature" on your card.  Whatever you think--so I think you should join us!

 

When we were in Colorado, Marjie had us make a card using Thoughts and Prayers with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch and then embossing it with the Square Lattice EF.  I really liked the look and thought it went well here too.

Masculine Birthday Card

Today is my brother's birthday.  Happy Birthday, Dennis!  The card I made for him has very little stamping.  I used the sketch from Paper Players and the color combo on Just Us Girls.  There's a twist on the color combo--it has to be a birthday card. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I used Marina Mist for the aqua and Peach Parfait for the coral.  With the simplicity of this card, I think it looks masculine.  I switched out the scallop border for diamonds--again, more masculine.  I think my brother will like it.

Clean and Simple

A few weeks ago when I got together with some of my stamping buddies.  It's a very quick and easy card--one that can be whipped out in 10 minutes or less.

 

I guess part of why it's so quick is that there's no stamping!  I used the Blossom Petals Punch to create my flower and the center is a Basic Rhinestone Jewel.  What do you think?  Too simple?

Stamp Camp Registration Open!! Register by April 11th!!

Today's card is one that we will make at my April Stamp Camp.  Stamp Camp will be held on Friday, April 15 at 7pm at my house in Plainfield and on Sunday, April 17 at noon in Hoffman Estates.  Cost of Stamp Camp is $15.  I'm also offering Stamp Camp kits for $25 (which includes priority shipping--U.S. customers only, please).  Kits will include all of the material needed to create the cards--you just use your own adhesive and assemble.  You will also receive a pdf file with a photo of the card and any needed directions.  Register by Monday, April 11th for attending and kits.  Kits will be shipped by Tuesday, April 19.

Silhouette Sentiments Gets Sketchy!

Good Saturday Morning!  I got together with a few of my stampin' buddies last night and made a few cards (I think I laughed more than stamped--but that's OK--we had a lot of fun).  My card today follows the Get Sketchy sketch.

 
I took a few creative liberties and made my circle a diamond and  used ribbon for the area with the sentiment, but the basic sketch is still the same.  That's why I love to look at sketch challenges--they are a great starting point!

 

I figure if I keep making spring type cards, spring will eventually get here to the Midwest!

Awash with Flowers Challenge

It's amazing how many "challenge" blogs are out there for all of us stampers.  My card today uses the sketch from Get Sketchy and the colors from CR84FN.

 

I haven't used my Awash with Flowers set for a while and with Spring right around the corner, I thought it would be perfect.  I used a new technique too--Mother of Pearl.  I saw the idea in my Stampin' Success (a great magazine for demonstrators).  We will use this technique at April's Stamp Camp (more info in the next week).

 
 

The large Whisper White panel is embossed with the swirl pattern from Perfect Details Texturz Plate.  It's kind of faint, but it's there.  In real life, the Mother of Pearl really shimmers.

I stamped directly on the Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding--use Staz On to stamp on ribbon.
