Bloggers Challenge--Spring Flowers

Remember back in the day when every Friday you knew I would be participating in Bloggers' Challenge?  It's hard to believe, but Lisa started this group (after the two of us challenged each other to make a card on using clothing as an inspiration) almost four years ago!  It's still going strong--and I'm hoping to get back on track and participate every Friday.

So today's challenge is Spring Flowers.  We are finally having some spring like weather here in the Chicago area--hoping it continues.  My spring flower is a daffodil.  I got this great idea from the very talented Jackie Topa.  The daffodil is made from the Blossom Petals Punch available in the Occasions Mini.

 

I don't usually stage my photos, but I got these beautiful daffodils from a fundraiser at work.  I thought it looked nice--although the "real" photographers in the crowd will probably cringe at the shadows, lol!

To make my card, I punched 6 of the larger leaves from the Blossoms Petal Punch in Daffodil Delight and sponged the edges.  I punched one of the large petals, folded it as shown and sponged.  My "leaves" are hand cut from Pear Pizzazz.  The Whisper White matte was run through the Big Shot using the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder.   A little Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding finishes my card.  I used Sincere Salutations for the greeting.  This card will be for my sister (sorry to ruin the surprise if you are reading Debbie).  She has this punch and I know she loves daffodils--so it's perfect for her.

The Same, But Different

Last weekend when I was in Colorado with my stamping friends, we made some swaps.  This is the card I made that was designed by Lisa Somerville. 

 

I CASEd the card twice using all Stampin' Up! products.  Here's the first one that features the Daisies #2 Bigz Die.

 

Here's what I used to make the card above:

Stamps:  Silhouette Sentiments (hostess)

Inks:  Chocolate Chip

Card Stock:  So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Confetti White, Greenhouse Gala DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot, Daisies #2 Bigz Die, 1 3/4", 1 3/8" and 1/2" Circle Punches

Here's another card, using the same design, some of the same colors, but a different die.

 

To make this card, you need the following:

Stamps:  Silhouette Sentiments (hostess)

Ink:  Early Espresso

Card Stock:  So Saffron, Early Espresso, Confetti White, Greenhouse Gala DSP

Bliss Sketch

Can you believe it?  I have a card to share THREE days in a row!  And this is a special card because I'm with a group of stamping friends in Evergreen, Colorado.  You'll see I took my photo outside.  We are in a house up in the mountains--needless to say it's gorgeous!  We got here Thursday and will get home today.  I feel very lucky to get the opportunity to take a little trip with some good friends!

 

My card follows the sketch on Get Sketchy.  I used Bliss, which is a stamp set you can get FREE when you place an order of $50 or more.  Remember, Sale-a-Bration ends on March 31!

My colors are Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White.  I used the Big Shot and Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  The flowers are from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and have a Pearl Jewel attached.  I stamped the butterfly from Bliss three times with Chocolate Chip.  I stamped it one more time on a scrap piece, cut it out and popped it up in the middle.  The middle butterfly also has 3 tiny Pearl Jewels, but it's hard to see in the photo.

A little more on my girls' weekend...a few of the girls I never actually met in person until this weekend.  I know them through a stamping group.  But I feel like I've known them forever.  One of the girls, Kim Howard, joined in the sketch too.  You can check her card out on her blog, Basement Stamper.

Another Example of the Fancy Fold Card

Yesterday I showed my card kit for the month.  And as promised, here's another example using the same card stock, just a different stamp set.  This card features Baroque Motifs.

Fancy Fold Card Kit Now Available!

I'm offering a card kit this month since I'm not hosting Stamp Camp.  This card is a little unique in how it's folded.  I've seen this style on a few different websites and changed it up so that it would fit an A2 envelope.  Take a look at the card and then all the information about the card kit will follow.

What do you think?  Kind of fun?  This card features the stamp set, Elements of Style.  Check back tomorrow to see the same card, but made with Baroque Motifs.

If you purchase the card kit you will receive all of the precut cardstock and ribbon, envelopes, and  pearl jewels to make 10 cards.  You will also receive a half sheet of Whisper White and Real Red so that you can make different punches for the embellishment.  No images will be stamped.  You will also receive written instructions (via email) on how to cut and fold the card and dimensions of all of the pieces so you can make more on your own.

Cost of the card kit is $30 (U.S. customers), which includes priority shipping.  All kits must be ordered by Tuesday, March 22.  Kits will be mailed out by March 31.  If you want to order more than one kit, email me and I'll adjust the shipping price.  Canadian customers, please email me for shipping costs.
