Paradise and Midnight Madness Sketch
Today is Friday so you know what that means--Bloggers' Challenge! Our theme this week is "A Stitch in Time". We had to use some kind of stitching on our card. Another craft I enjoy (but haven't done for ages) is cross stitching so I used that on my card.
My card also follows this week's sketch on Midnight Madness. Be sure to check out her website--she's offering some AWESOME blog candy.
The sketch called for 3 brads in the two corners. Instead of brads, I added 3 cross stitches. I used Linen Thread for the stitching. I like the addition of the stitching. What do you think?
To make my focal image, I first inked up the leaf from Paradise with Always Artichoke. Then I did the "rock and roll" technique on scrap paper to take off some of the Always Artichoke. Where the ink came off, I added More Mustard with a marker. I didn't want to muddy up my More Mustard ink pad, which is why I used the marker instead.
On the two small background panels, I used two patterns from Autumn Traditions DSP. They are backed with Soft Suede card stock. The ribbon is Soft Suede Polka Dot Grosgrain--it's reversible!
I know my card is more "fall" than summer, but it will be perfect for the upcoming weekend. We are supposed to have cooler than normal weather for the weekend here in the Chicago area. That's not a complaint--I love that we have been able to open windows instead of running the AC!
Have a great weekend, but be sure to check back. I'll have more projects to share!
Thanks for the visit!
