Trendy Trees Challenge

You know what I really like about the Trendy Trees stamp set?  You can make these trees ANY color and it works!  I guess that's why they are trendy, lol!

My card for you today follows this week's Color and Sketch Challenge on SCS.

Trendytreeschallenge

See what I mean about the tree?  It looks great in Barely Banana and Lavender Lace.  For the "shadow", I first punched a Small Oval in scrap paper.  Then I masked the bottom part of the trunk and then sponged the oval.  I stamped the other tree with Barely Banana on the Barely Banana strip.  I used the Tres Chic Background stamp on the Lavender Lace panel.  Since Basic Black was part of the color combo, I layered all of my panels on black.

How about that?  No ribbon or brads (my two "go to" embellishments) and the card still looks great!

Thanks for the visit!

Check out this great deal!

Autumn Days and Autumn Traditions DSP

My card is serving double duty--it's a Stamp Camp card for this weekend and it's for the weekly sketch on SCS.  My colors come from the brand new Autumn Trafitions DSP.  I know it's only July, but this card would make a great masculine thank you card at any time of the year, not just Autumn!

Pheasantthanks

What else do you see new on this card?  Some Elegant Eggplant Ribbon!  Gorgeous, huh?  And it's not too feminine for a masculine card.  The ribbon is one of three designs from the new Orchard Ribbons Original.  The pheasant is from Autumn Days and is stamped in the new In Color, Soft Suede.

Autumntraditionsdsp

Here's all the patterns from the Autumn Traditions DSP.  I chose the stripes to keep with a masculine theme and an any time theme.  This DSP should be on your "must have" list.  Actually all of the new DSP should be on that list, lol!  If you want to try ALL of the new DSP, but not spend almost $150, consider my DSP Product Share.  You will get a 12 x 6 pieces of each pattern in each of the 10 new DSP packages.  Plus you will get one full sheet of the other 2 new packages.  All of that is only $55.  Click here for all of the information and for info on my ribbon and button shares too (purchase all 3 and save $$).

Did you miss out on Stamp Camp registration?  If so, I'm extending registration until 5pm (Central) today!  Click here for more information and a PayPal link.  You don't want to miss it!

Stand Up Rose

This week's Technique Challenge on SCS is a Stand Up card.  There are excellent directions in the thread on SCS.  What a great card that can be used as art!  If you are attending Stamp Camp this month (July 10 in Plainfield, IL and July 12 in Hoffman Estates, IL), you will make a Stand Up Card (colors, stamps will be different than my example here).  Click here to register for Stamp Camp today--deadline is July 8.

Standuprose

I kept this card pretty simple since it was my first shot at the Stand Up card.  I stamped two of the flowers from Fifth Avenue Floral with Melon Mambo ink on Melon Mambo card stock for the side panels.  Then I ran the Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder through the Big Shot using Melon Mambo card stock.  All my layers are matted with Basic Black--it really makes the Melon Mambo pop!  I added a piece of Basic Black Grosgrain.  My "thanks" is from Fundamental Phrases.  I used the Small, Large and Scallop Oval Punches to layer the sentiment.

Be sure to check back after 11am Central Time.  I will have this week's Stampin' Up! Deal of the Week!  Ooooh  who doesn't love a deal!

Thanks for the visit!

Red, White and Blue and Cheers to You!

I have two cards to share with you.  First is Bloggers' Challenge and the current Stamps and Smiles sketch.  With this being 4th of July weekend, the Bloggers' Challenge theme is red, white and blue.  I used those colors, but instead of a 4th of July card, I made a card for a friend.

Sasfriendsketch

Can you see the embossing on the Whisper White and Night of Navy panels?  It's the diamond pattern from Texture Plates #1.  I also used the Big Shot with the Daisies Die #2.  The centers of my daisies are 1/2" Circles from Night of Navy and Fire Circle Rhinestones.  I used the Real Red and Night of Navy markers on my sentiment from All Holidays.

My second card follows the sketch on Our Creative Corner and uses the SCS Color Challenge, which is Kraft, So Saffron and Night of Navy.  I think this card is related to what some of us might be doing at parties this weekend!

Occcheerssketch

I stamped my beer mugs from Cheers to You on a piece of Kraft card stock with Basic Black.  I also stamped the mughs on Whisper White and So Saffron card stock.  Then I paper pieced so it looks like I have a mug of So Saffron beer with a Whisper White frothy top, lol!  I stamped my sentiment with Night of Navy ink and punched it out with the Large Oval Punch.  Then I layered it on a Night of Navy Scallop Oval Punch.  Lastly, I added some Night of Navy Grosgrain on the So Saffron panel.

"Cheers" to all of you on this 4th of July weekend.  I hope you have a fun and safe holiday.  But, be sure to check back over the weekend.  I'll have projects to share.

Thanks for the visit!

Just Beachy Challenge

Yeah! I found some time to participate in the color and sketch challenge on SCS.  The colors are Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango and Summer Sun--perfect for the soon to be gone stamp set, Just Beachy!

Fishychallenge

Sorry about the crooked photo.  I love these fish, especially in such bright colors!  I used Good Morning Sunshine DSP because I think this Pacific Point pattern looks like water bubbles.  On the smaller Pacific Point pieces, I used my Big Shot and the Texture Plates #1.  I sponged some Whisper White onto these pieces to give more a "water" look.

The fish are stamped on Watercolor Paper with Black Stazon.  I used a Blender Pen and ink refills to color the fish.  Then I tortured myself by cutting out the fish, lol!  The sentiment is from Really Retro and punched out with the Word Window Punch.

Just a reminder you have less than one week to get your "Last Chance" items and to participate in Sheryl's Birthday Celebration.  You can order 24/7 right here.

Thanks for the visit!

Autumn Days Sketch

Good Morning!  I have another partial sneak peek for you.  My image is from new set, Autumn Days.  This set, which will be perfect for all of your "Autumn" projects, will be available July 1.  The paper I used is from the current Bella Bleu DSP.  This particular DSP will still be available in July.  My sketch is from the Sketch Challenge on SCS.

Sc233pheasant

Kind of simple, huh?  Which is great when you need a card quickly.  I love these colors together: Not Quite Navy, Kraft and Very Vanilla.  I debated if I should use these Jumbo Brads (5/16") or the regular size one.  I think these work.  What do you think?  Are my brads too big?

Be sure to check back tomorrow.  It's Blogger's Challenge and the theme is "Masculine" since Father's Day is this weekend.  I'm pretty proud of my card and I'm excited to share it with you.

Card Details:

Stamp Set:  Autumn Days

Ink:  Not Quite Navy

Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Not Quite Navy, Kraft, Bella Bleu DSP

Accessories: Jumbo Brads, Very Vanilla Taffeta

Inspired by Nature Color Challenge

I had a little more time to stamp tonight (hence the late post) so I decided to do the Color Challenge on SCS.  The colors are Ruby Red, Baja Breeze and Whisper White.  After I finished my card, I updated the Accessory List and unfortunately the Sweet Slumber DSP and Baja Breeze Card Stock are no longer available.  However, you can still use my card as a layout inspiration.

My card is also for the Our Creative Corner challenge.  Their challenge this week is to use a border punch.  Read on after the card and I'll tell you what I did with the Eyelet Border Punch.

Rubybajainspiredbynature

The one pattern in the Sweet Slumber DSP really lent itself to my layout.  Then I took a piece of Ruby Red Card Stock and punched the Eyelet Border.  The key to getting a nice corner with this punch is having just half the punch at the end.  Then, looking at the actual punch part, line up the last hole with the first hole of the punch.  Continue on punching the border as usual.  I really like how the corner turned out.

Next I stamped just two of the flowers from Inspired by Nature onto the Ruby Red.  I actually used a Stampin' Write Marker to ink up the flowers so I could stamp them one at a time.  I stamped the one flower on Baja Breeze and cut it out.  It's attached with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Lastly, I folded the Whisper White Satin  Ribbon (Occasions Mini) and added a Baja Breeze Corduroy Button.  I hope you can use this layout for your own cards!

Don't forget my Birthday Celebration is on until June 30!

Card Details:

Stamp Set:  Inspired by Nature

Ink:  Ruby Red Stampin' Write Marker and Ink, Baja Breeze

Card Stock:  Ruby Red, Baja Breeze, Sweet Slumber DSP

Accessories:  Eyelet Border Punch, Whisper White Satin Ribbon, Baja Breeze Corduroy Buttons

Bird on a Branch

SASSC17 Another Thursday means another sketch from Stamps and Smiles on The Fresh Batch!  And as usual, I'm combining it with another challenge--Way to Use It on SCS.  The Way to Use It challenge is simply using buttons!  I wanted to use some of the new Chocolate Chip Corduroy buttons, but they were too large.  So I used some of the retired SU! Neutral Buttons.

Birdsandbuttons

Are you impressed that I actually stayed with the sketch this time?  lol.  I used Bird on a Branch for my focal image.  Using the Stamp-a-ma-Jig was helpful in getting all 3 images lined up correctly.  I stamped the bird first and then masked it to stamp the limb.  I distressed the edges of the Whisper White and Chocolate Chip layer with the Cutter Tool Kit.

My Pacific Point layer was just a little to bare so I ran it through the Big Shot with the "wood grain" texture plate.  It really makes a difference--a little something without being too much.  My punched flowers are from the Boho Blossoms Punch.

I have another challenge card to post a little later today so be sure to drop in again!

Card Details:

Stamp Set:  Bird on a Branch

Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss

Card Stock:  Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White

Accessories:  Big Shot, Texture Plates #4, Kiwi Kiss Striped Grosgrain, Boho Blossoms Punch, Linen Thread, Neutral Buttons (retired)

Wagon Full of Fun, Vase Full of Flowers

Can you believe May is almost over?  With the end of May comes the end of the Scrapbooking Specials.  As you should know, the Designer Series Paper is on sale (buy 3, get 1 free).  We know that any of the DSP that contains "In Colors" will retire.  Once the "Last Chance" list (new name for the retiring list) is announced on June 1, accessories will be available ONLY while supplies last.

What does that mean for you?  It means that if you really want any of the DSP (and any other item) that contains In Colors, you should get it now so you really don't lose out.  You can shop online at any time on my Online Ordering Website.

Cps117 Now onto my card...I used the sketch from CPS and the colors from this weeks Color Challenge on SCS.  I took some creative liberties.  I don't have a semi-circle and circle per se.  My Jumbo Grommet takes the place of both.   I also flipped the card to make it horizontal.  I think that's OK, don't you?

Flowerpotchallenge

The colors from the challenge are So Saffron, Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie.  I think they work well together.  I stamped the flower from Wagon Full of Fun onto Bashful Blue DSP, the Pumpkin Pie pattern from Sweet Always DSP and the So Saffron pattern from Flock Together DSP.  Then I cut out them out and popped them out with Stampin' Dimensionals.  My vase is the Large Oval Punch and more of the So Saffron pattern from Flock Together DSP.

I'm pleased with my vase and flowers and hope they offer some inspiration to you!

Card Details:

Stamp Set:  Wagon Full of Fun (Occasions Mini)

Ink:  Basic Black

Card Stock:  Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Bashful Blue DSP, Sweet Always DSP and Flock Together DSP

Accessories:  Jumbo Basic Grommets (Occasions Mini), Bashful Blue Striped Grosgrain, Large Oval Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Clean and Simple Butterfly Color Challenge

At Stamp Camp, my friend,Jaime, showed me some very pretty thank you cards she made.  They were white with 2 embossed lines.  She stamped a flourish of flowers between the lines and added a scalloped flower.  They were so simple, but yet so pretty that I decided to copy the embossed line idea.  My card also is for this week's Color Combo (Rose Red, Brilliant Blue and Only Orange) on SCS.

Before I show you my card, I will warn you that this card is not for someone who does not like to use their scissors!  lol!  I hope you like it!

Casbutterflies

I had trouble getting a good photo that showed the dimension of the butteflies and the embossed lines so here's a close up of the embossing.

Casbutterfliescloseup

I added a line of piercing too.  The grid in the Crafter's Tool Kit makes it super easy to get a straight line.

The butterfly is from Dreams du Jour.  Would you like to purchase this stamp set at a 10% discount?  You can with the purchase of the Pop Up Die Card Kit.  Click here for all the details.
