Mojo Monday Paradise

Paradise One of my "must have" new sets from the catalog (you can order your catalog here) is Paradise.  I love these leaves and I think they will be good for all kinds of occasions!

My card for today is the technique Stamp Camp card (club members get to make two or I make one for them if they can't attend--I still have openings).  It also uses this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  And if that's not enough, my card qualifies for the Creative Belli challenge.

The technique we used is called "Double Bugging" from the most recent Technique Junkies Newsletter.  I'll have to call it Double Big Shotting though since we used the Big Shot, lol!

Mojoparadise

Originally I started using just Certainly Celery and Old Olive ink and card stock.  But, the card needed a little "something" so I added So Saffron.   My main focus has the Old Olive leaf masked and then Certainly Celery leaves.  I sponged with So Saffron and Old Olive.  The panel beneath that is "double  bugged" with the Small Dots and Diamond Texture Plates and Big Shot.  The Designer Series Paper panel is from Flock Together.  The finishing touches are Certainly Celery Grosgrain and "just a little thanks" from Matchbox Messages.  I used the 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle Punches.

If you weren't able to make Stamp Camp this month, be sure to put Friday, August 14 at 7pm for Plainfield, IL and Sunday, August 16 at 12pm for Hoffman Estates, IL.  I still a lot of new stuff to use and show you!

Thanks for the visit!

Stand Up Rose

This week's Technique Challenge on SCS is a Stand Up card.  There are excellent directions in the thread on SCS.  What a great card that can be used as art!  If you are attending Stamp Camp this month (July 10 in Plainfield, IL and July 12 in Hoffman Estates, IL), you will make a Stand Up Card (colors, stamps will be different than my example here).  Click here to register for Stamp Camp today--deadline is July 8.

Standuprose

I kept this card pretty simple since it was my first shot at the Stand Up card.  I stamped two of the flowers from Fifth Avenue Floral with Melon Mambo ink on Melon Mambo card stock for the side panels.  Then I ran the Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder through the Big Shot using Melon Mambo card stock.  All my layers are matted with Basic Black--it really makes the Melon Mambo pop!  I added a piece of Basic Black Grosgrain.  My "thanks" is from Fundamental Phrases.  I used the Small, Large and Scallop Oval Punches to layer the sentiment.

Be sure to check back after 11am Central Time.  I will have this week's Stampin' Up! Deal of the Week!  Ooooh  who doesn't love a deal!

Thanks for the visit!

Red, White and Blue and Cheers to You!

I have two cards to share with you.  First is Bloggers' Challenge and the current Stamps and Smiles sketch.  With this being 4th of July weekend, the Bloggers' Challenge theme is red, white and blue.  I used those colors, but instead of a 4th of July card, I made a card for a friend.

Sasfriendsketch

Can you see the embossing on the Whisper White and Night of Navy panels?  It's the diamond pattern from Texture Plates #1.  I also used the Big Shot with the Daisies Die #2.  The centers of my daisies are 1/2" Circles from Night of Navy and Fire Circle Rhinestones.  I used the Real Red and Night of Navy markers on my sentiment from All Holidays.

My second card follows the sketch on Our Creative Corner and uses the SCS Color Challenge, which is Kraft, So Saffron and Night of Navy.  I think this card is related to what some of us might be doing at parties this weekend!

Occcheerssketch

I stamped my beer mugs from Cheers to You on a piece of Kraft card stock with Basic Black.  I also stamped the mughs on Whisper White and So Saffron card stock.  Then I paper pieced so it looks like I have a mug of So Saffron beer with a Whisper White frothy top, lol!  I stamped my sentiment with Night of Navy ink and punched it out with the Large Oval Punch.  Then I layered it on a Night of Navy Scallop Oval Punch.  Lastly, I added some Night of Navy Grosgrain on the So Saffron panel.

"Cheers" to all of you on this 4th of July weekend.  I hope you have a fun and safe holiday.  But, be sure to check back over the weekend.  I'll have projects to share.

Thanks for the visit!

Depth of Field Butterfly

I decided to try my hand at the new technique, Depth of Field, from the most recent Technique Junkies Newsletter.  Take a look...

Depthoffieldbutterfly

I used the butterfly from Dream du Jours for my background.  I think the next time I will stamp off the Basic Gray butterflies.  Mine are a little dark, but I'm still happy with the results.

Do you see a new color?  It's one of the upcoming new In Colors called Melon Mambo.  It's a delicious color!  Once I stamped my background, I added some of the Melon Mambo Polka Dot Grosgrain to the two corners.  I stamped two butterflies, cut them out and then added Crystal Effects to make them shiny.

You like the new In Colors?  You can start ordering them on Wednesday, July 1 at noon.  You can order right here

I know I promised information about my product shares, but I decided to wait until next week.  I will have a Designer Series Paper share, Ribbon share and Button share.  If you order all 3, there will be a cost savings.  Plus I'll have a little gift for the first 4 to order.  So be sure to check back next week!

Thanks for the visit!

Riding Hood Red Rose

My card is all my own today--no color or sketch challenges to follow!  I love Riding Hood Red with Chocolate Chip.  And I love the Baroque Motif flourish with the rose from Fifth Avenue Floral.  So I put all of them together and came up with this.

Rhrrose2

Can I just say that when I'm looking at the photo as I'm taking it, it is NOT crooked.  I think I need to take a class, lol!

Any who, back to my card.  My rose is stamped 3 times with Chocolate Chip ink on Riding Hood Red card stock.  I cut it out each time cutting off some of the rose so that I created a Paper Tole rose.  Before assembling it, I sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip ink.  Then I added some uniball Signo White Gel Pen dots.  Here's a close up of the rose to show the layers.

RHRrose2closeup

My card needed something in the upper right corner.  It took me a while to figure out what.  I decided on some Chocolate Chip Word Window Punches with Whisper White Jumbo Brads.

My new catalogs arrived today!  If you are one of my customers, email me to make arrangements to have one shipped or to pick one up.

Be sure to check back too because I will have all the information for my upcoming Designer Series Paper, Ribbon and Button shares available.

Thanks for the visit!

Under the Stars "U R Great"

This set, Under the Stars, is so cute!  It's another one I got free from Stampin' Up!  When I saw this bear, I just knew I had to paper piece him.  My card also follows the MoJo Sketch for the week.  My card also follows the theme for Our Creative Corner--use stars!

Mojo91Sketch

A lot of times, when the sketches are long cards, I just take creative liberty and make mine the regular A2 size.  For this card, I decided to keep it long so my card base is 8" x 8".  Folded in half it's 8" x 4".

My colors come from a DSP that's not new to you if you follow my blog--To the Nines Specialty DSP.  I'm so glad this DSP is staying for the next catalog!

Urgreat

I stamped the bear on Sahara Sand and then on several pieces of the DSP so that I could paper piece him.  I used Short Order Alpha (retiring) for the U and R.  I grabbed my Stamp-a-ma-Jig to line up the stars around the letters.  A few extra stars and the "grrreat" punched with the Large Oval layered on the Scallop Oval finishes my card.

Be sure to check out these great sites for challenges!  It really helps to get your stamping juices flowing!

Thanks for the visit!!

Owl Together Now!

One of the things I really LOVE about being an SU! Demonstrator is the chance to earn FREE stamps!  A big time for us to earn free stamps is during Sale-a-Bration.  One of the free sets I chose is Owl Together Now.  I'll show you my card, then a quick "how to" will follow.

Nightowl

This is my little night owl.  To start, I stamped the tree branch and owl on Glossy White Card Stock with Black Stazon.  While that was drying (doesn't take too long), I made a mask of the branch and owl.  I also punched a 1" Circle from a post-it note.  I covered the images with the masks and placed my circle.  Then, using Sponge Daubers, I sponged Bordering Blue and Night of Navy on the Glossy White Card Stock.  I had to be careful around the leaves so that my masks didn't move when sponging.

Once I removed the masks, I colored the images with Stampin' Write Markers.  My Old Olive Card Stock is embossed with the Big Shot and Texture #1 Plates.  I used 2 pieces of Old Olive Striped Grosgrain and 1 piece of Night of Navy Grosgrain.  I was going to add a Styled Silver Ribbon Slide, but since that looks like a flower I opted not to add it.  I wanted a more masculine card.

If you would like more information about being a Demonstrator so you can earn FREE stamps (and money too!), email me.  You don't have to live near me to be in my downline.  As long as you are in the United States, I can help you achieve your business goals!

Card Details:

Stamp Set:  Owl Together Now

Ink:  Black Stazon, Bordering Blue, Night of Navy

Stampin' Write Markers:  Old Olive, Close to Cocoa, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip

Card Stock:  Bordering Blue, Night of Navy, Old Olive, Glossy White

Accessories:  Big Shot, Texture #1 Plates, Old Olive Striped Grosgrain, Night of Navy Grosgrain, Sponge Daubers

Embrace Life Sketch and Some Birthday Cards

As I was cutting some Pink Flamingo DSP for my June Card Kit, I really took a look at the paper...it's gorgeous!!  So I decided to use two of the patterns for my card that follows the Sketch For You To Try by Jen.

Sfytt061309

Here's the sketch.  I was happy to see this one because it's a pretty easy one to follow, lol!

Embracelifesketch

Aren't these patterns and colors pretty?  I used the Paper Piecing technique and Masking for my flowers.  I don't know why I choose projects that have me cutting out the tiniest shapes, lol!  But, when my card is done, I'm always happy with it!

Card Details:

Stamp Set:  Embrace Life

Ink:  Basic Black

Card Stock:  Summer Sun, Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, Pink Flamingo DSP

Accessories:  Circle Fire Rhinestone, uniball Signo Gel Pen, Stampin' Dimensionals

I also want to share some birthday cards that I received last week.  I love them and it means so much to me that someone took the time to create a card for me!

Jaimecard

Created by Jaime.  She dyed the ribbon with Elegant Eggplant.  Isn't that a cool frame made with the ribbon?

Vikkicard

Created by Vikki.  She used Paper Piecing on the chef's pants and scarf and Watercoloring on the coat.  I really like how she did the sentiment and buttons!

Nicolecard

Created by Nicole.  She created the vase with the Large Oval Punch.  Some of the flowers are popped out with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Aren't the colors pretty?

Hope you enjoyed all of the cards today.  Thanks for the visit!

2 Sketches and 2 Stamp Camp Cards

Happy Monday!  I have 2 cards to share with you today.  Both of them are sketch challenges and both are projects for this weekend's Stamp Camp.

Cps119 First is the "technique card".  Club members will make 2 of this card.  It uses the "Faux Iris Folding" Technique from the most recent Technique Junkies Newsletter.  It also follows this weeks sketch on CPS.

I made my card a normal A2 size instead of a long and narrow card.  But that's the beauty of these sketches--that's allowed!

Here's my card (and yours too if you attend Stamp Camp).

Junesc1a

Junesc1b

Here's a close up of the butterfly.  It looks like a patchwork quilt I think.

My next card follows the sketch on Mojo Monday.  It's also one of the 4 cards you can make at Stamp Camp.

Junesc2

This card features the soon to retire Doodle This.  The In Colors used (Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point) will all retire as well.

If you'd like to join me at Stamp Camp, I have 2 locations to serve the Chicago area.  Friday, June 12 at 7pm in Plainfield come to my house.  Sunday, June 14 at 12 pm in Hoffman Estates come to my Mom's house.  Be sure to bring your own adhesive, scissors and stamp cleaner.  If you need directions for either location, be sure to email me.  Registration ends Wednesday, June 10!

When using the Pay Pal link, be sure to indicate which Stamp Camp you plan to attend.

Thanks for the visit!

Fifth Avenue Floral--Blogger's Challenge

Sorry I'm posting so late tonight.  Tomorrow is Dalton's graduation party and I've been busy getting ready for that.  But, it's Friday which means Blogger's Challenge.  I'm cheating just a bit as I had this card made last month for my May Box of Stampin' Supplies, but I haven't posted it yet.  The theme is "summer".  That's a pretty broad theme, don't you think?  So while my colors may not scream "summer", my focal image is the rose from Fifth Avenue Floral, which is definitely summer to me.

Mayboss3

I used the Paper Tole technique for this card.  The rose is cut into 3 different layers and I sponged each layer.  The Designer Series Paper is Urban Oasis (which is retiring).  I just cut it out so I had the leaves fro my rose.  The Baja Breeze Corduroy button is from the Occasions Mini.

Card Details:

Stamp Sets:  Fifth Avenue Floral, All Holidays

Inks:  Basic Gray, Baja Breeze

Card Stock:  Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Urban Oasis DSP

Accessories:  Baja Breeze Corduroy Buttons, Sponge Daubers, Stampin' Dimensionals
