I decided to play with my On Board Accents (chipboard) today and make a tag/ornament. I used Holiday Harmony Designer Series Paper to cover both sides of the tag. Since I wanted the backside to look pretty too, I decided to do a "double brad". I cannot remember on whose blog I saw this idea so I apologize to the creator (if I find it, I will edit this post). Below are some steps to do the "double brad" (that's my name for it). I have only done this with the Jumbo Brads. I need to give you a hint with the Crop-A-Dile. It's very important to make sure you have the dials set correctly to set the Jumbo Brads. Look at the first picture to see what I mean. Hope you like this idea!
Make sure you have the "back" dial set to the large round circle. Just to the side of it is the pointy circle--this setting will NOT work.
Punch your hole using the larger punch. You may have to punch a little more for the Jumbo Brad to fit.
Set the Jumbo Brad. Really make sure you squeeze hard and get the brad set well.
Now add your second Jumbo Brad to the back of the first brad. It will not fit flush, but that is OK.
Set this brad just like you did the first one, but you will have to squeeze a little harder.
This is the first brad. If you look carefully, you'll see the ends of the back brad.
Here's the front of my tag/ornament. I embossed the angel from Holy Triptych with Gold Embossing Powder and then watercolored her. Her wing is watercolored with Whisper White Craft Ink. I used the Purely Pomegranate Satin Ribbon from the Holiday Mini. It's lusciously beautiful. To hang the ornament, I used the Gold Elastic Cording.
Here's the backside of the tag. It's just as pretty as the front!
You can do this same idea with the chipboard from On Board Trimmings. In the Trim the Tree Kit, we punched holes for cording, but any of the ornaments would be perfect with the "double brad" and Satin Ribbon!
Beautiful tag, love the double duty idea.
