Today's card is one that you will make at Stamp Camp.  Since it's August and back to school, it's time to think "fall".  My card features French Foliage.  The colors are Cajun Craze and So Saffron.  My sketch is from this week's sketch on CPS.

 

Since Cajun Craze is a darker color, I used a Very Vanilla panel on the inside too.

 

What do you think of the bit of Cajun Craze poking out underneath the So Saffron?  Do you have any idea how I got that border?  It's the  Postage Stamp Punch from the Summer Mini.  I just punched a bit off and it's a really easy punch to line up so that the border stays even.  Hope you like that idea.

August Stamp Camp--Two Cards to Share

August Stamp Camp Registration is Open!

August Stamp Camp will be Friday, August 19, 2011 at 7pm at my house in Plainfield.  I'm sorry I can't show you the first card--my camera is acting up.  It did this once before and I was able to get it working.  I'm hoping the same holds true this time.

Summer Solstice

This new set, Summer Solstice,  caught my eye right away.  We used it at Stamp Camp this month.  I used the card on page 114 for inspiration changing up the colors to incorporate the new In Colors.

 

We stamped the images on Very Vanilla card stock using 3 of the new In Colors:  Lucky Limade, Calypso Coral, and Wisteria Wonder.  We also used a Blender Pen and ink to add some color to the edges of each image--mine is light and after seeing some darker coloring from my campers, I think I like that better.  We cut the petals on the lines to separate and used Stampin' Dimensionals on 5 of the petals to give a 3D look.  The DSP is First Edition Specialty.  We also used Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon and card stock and Basic Black card stock.

Need For Speed

For those of you that know I have 3 teenage boys, it's a no brainer that Need For Speed was at the top of my "must haves" from the new catalog!  I love the "sketchiness" of the images and know this stamp get will get a lot of use!  Here's a stamp camp card we made on Friday.

 

I used the card on page 91 (click on the catalog in the left side bar to view) as my inspiration.  I took a piece of card stock, wrapped it in aluminum foil and then ran it through the Big Shot with the new Stripes Embossing Folder.  Under the sentiment, I stamped an image from Extreme Elements with Real Red ink on the Real Red card stock.  The sentiment is from On Your Birthday--this isn't a new set, but one that has all of the birthday greetings you'll need.

Paradise

My card today was one of June's Stamp Camp cards.  It features the stamp set, Paradise, which is retiring.  If you haven't checked out my promotion for retiring sets, click here.  Remember, the last day to order from the 2010-2011 catalog is Thursday!

Back to my card...I had a beautiful piece of tissue paper that I used as my inspiration.  It's in the photo as well.

 
We did a reversed mask frame (that's what I'm calling it anyways) on this card.  I took a scrap piece of card stock cut 1/4" shorter on each side compared to my Whisper White panel.  Holding the scrap piece down carefully, I sponged with Perfect Plum and a Sponge Dauber all around the edges.  While still holding the scrap piece down, I outlined it with the Perfect Plum Stampin' Write Marker.  Then I covered the sponged area with post it notes and stamped the inside.

My leaves are Perfect Plum and Always Artichoke.  I also used the Spritzer with Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker to add a little spritz.  The Whisper White is adhered to a piece of Always Artichoke and then a Perfect Plum card base.  Lastly, I used the Big Shot and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit with Peach Parfait card stock to add the butterflies.  The bodies are created with Basic Pearl Jewels.
